voxengo voxformer on the vocal track, a slight touch of reverb (SpaceMaster from Reaktor Session) and some EQ treatment (very important) to give more space to the vox.

i fear the EQ treatment was a bit rough, tho.
i've lost some punch and a lot of bassend.

i'll see if i can do better (not now though, i'm busy...

)

There's a new singer to look out for

This is just a perfect fit.....

Listened to Wopelka's version too, but feel the music in that is pushed down a bit and missing the fullness it had in Antoines mix. Must agree though the vocal sits much better in there...

Now go on and do more together

Seriously, there's a soulfulness and jazzyness in Dave's voice that's perfect for the more 'conventional' tracks of mine. So, Dave, you may be in trouble buddy

I did a 'crash test' of the old and the new mix, and Mystahr, you're right. Wopie had already said that it lost some bass-end but I never listened to them side by side to discover that. The vocal sits a lot better indeed though

Im delighted you like the voice - never used it before (well drunken songs in the pub late at night but thats a whole other story

btw I'm working on backing vocals right now [that much I can do - hopefully] - they won't transform this into a Beach Boys song, but I think they'll make it come even more alive. I'm also thinking of adding some extra instrumentation to highlight the different sections of the track. I'm having an exam on Friday, so i'll be able to work more freely after that.
