How do you handle this?

So I have my Drum reverb, all drum tracks being sent to the same reverb. And by the time I'm done mixing ill also throw a reverb on my master channel.

How would you handle this? Just turn the drum verb way down and slowly work it in? Or would you even bother putting a verb on the master channel and just give each of the synths their own reverb sends so the drums don't go through reverb twice?

Each of my reverbs in a track is on a send bus. I have a drum bus for compression, and I have a send from that to a plate verb on an AUs channel for the drums.

I have a separate hall verb on an aux for other instruments, and I use sends to balance them.

If a reverb on a synth is part of its sound design, it can be an insert on the synth's channel, otherwise the synth has a send to a group verb, usually the hall.

I never put a reverb on a master channel, but that is because I don't want anything to have one verb go into another.

If a master channel verb is your only verb, that seems reasonable to me.

Reverb on the master channel is not something I would do unless it was an unusual situation.

Ideally, your recording will have more detail and distinction then to warrant one inclusive reverb on everything.

Now on the drums is a different matter.
