Hmm... it's odd that you hear the vocals in one ear. The guitar and horns are panned opposite sides, but the lead vocal is right in the middle. Any chance your ears are imbalanced?

The kick is distorting all over the place... that might be related to the crackling I'm hearing in the horns... I'm using the C3 multiband compressor and TLS maximizer for mastering, and I think they're not playing nicely with each other.

Actually though, I kind of like the distorto-kick... it reminds me of the flaming lips...

Hey Garret, of course you realise that I love this.

The Sea and Cake influence is definitely in there but it's also all Garret - ie tuneful, jazzy and warm. Cool track

enjoy your cd, and let me know in a month or two what your favorites (and unfavorites) are... I'll need to edit out a few tracks eventually.

I think I'm going to get a t-shirt that says "I Sound Like the Sea and Cake." No one will know what it means except you and me, tris.

I'll start downloading the tracks today, I'm on dial-up so in a couple of days I'll have them all.

I'll let you know about my favs, of course.

After I left KvR, I went to study a bit for my friday exam and listened to 'The Fawn' from beginning to end. The Sea and Cake are a cool band, I love them but while some of their tracks can sound a bit 'clinical' your tracks are very warm.

Oh, I think putte loves them too.
