Well, it depends on what genre you want to use in. I use M1 rarely because I don't like the sound editing abilities although there are nice presets of the 90's era (I feel it exactly a rompler not exactly a synth), but Wavestation is not only a rompler IMO. You can program a very nice original sounds by putting together so many small segments (especially using the wave sequence) and build up to four presets then morph between them. I use it mostly for soft calm Pads.andy4trance wrote:thanks EnGee. Romplers, not my cup of tea. Wavestation sounds sterile and thin/buzzy to my ears. Guess it's a matter of tastes...and I like the 80s sounds but mostly the metal side of it.
Don't forget Mono/Poly. It is really a great synth. Some people see it as a big brother for Polysix, but IMO they are not the same.
I bought first 2 synths for $50 each (Mono/Poly and Wavestation) and then bought the rest with 30% off later, and I feel it is a great buy at $200, so for half the price It is really cheap. Anyway, I can't use them in my laptop (Full HD resolution). I can't see the fonts and parameters. With the 27" monitor of my desktop they are OK. They really need to update the GUI, but I don't feel they will
I have installed the Legacy synths 4 times (Still installed). 1 in Win7 Acer laptop, 1 in Mac (Hackintosh) 10.6 (in the same Acer laptop), 1 in Win8 (HP laptop) and 1 in my desktop PC. I don't have a problem in all of the installations or authorizations. As I remember I only update the registration (or authorization) in the website with the Computer code so I could have them generate the Authorization code. Anyway, I use only the desktop one for now
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Yeah ... i got a great deal on the Legacy Collection. Bought an unregistered M1 LE license in the marketplace and upgraded for $49.99.
I used the offline registration method. A bit longwinded, having to authorize each plugin seperately, but worked ok.
I hope they update the gui's at some point. MS20 and Polysix have edit pages, but they're still a bit small. Thats on my 1440x900 lappy screen.

Both P6 and the MS20 have iPad ports and they look ridiculously nice. The P6 also sports a number of extras like triangle/noise oscilator, LPF/HPF toggle and a pitch modulator on the oscillator which screws up the whole patch at the slightest touch.

The best is to ask on the Korg forum (to be already Korg user is not required), but I think yes... except that Legacy Cell doesn't require only MS-20 and Polysix but also MDE-X. You MUST have these three elements to use Legacy Cell. It is the question 10 here at the end of the FAQ.

From Korg website:
Q7 Can I do license authorization for multiple computers?
A7 You can install and authorize the software on multiple computers, but you can only utilize the software on one computer at a time.

Or just use an XY pad...
