When I select a mono patch (f.e. like "A Fifth of Bass EN") and draw some notes in Ableton Live or FL Studio then the Matrix 12 V will behave wrongly and will play legato all the time altough the drawn notes don't overlap.
The same bug also happens with ARP 2600 V and Modular V. I have even reported it 1.5 years ago, but Arturia never fixed this, altough they promised to do so.
I really like some of their plugins very much and was also considering the upgrade because Spark 2, but I am also very tired now with them and disappointed that they not only don't fix the bug but even introduce it into Matrix 12 V.

What gives, Arturia?

well that sucks I was thinking of getting the Solina. I am really getting into string synths right now and I was hoping this one would stand out.

The synth itself is fine as long as you turn off the reverb. I get about 6-8% CPU use at 32-sample latency with six keys down on my 2011 iMac without reverb, but yeah any reverb causes crackles.

Throw on a Valhalla reverb and you're fine. But try the demo out first.

If you are on PC, eSline will get you 95% of the way there, with the other 5% being made up in the mix, and it's free.

The last three Arturia products feel extremely rushed and rough around the edges to me. It feels like there was a push to include these as a way to intice V3 Collection owners to jumping to V4 Collection around the holidays.

One thing to note, I found much less issues with any bugs (on PC) by setting my screen to the recommended resolution AND turning off the font size enhancements.

Thus I was able to track a tune using mostly Matrix 12 for the synths parts.
Have a listen if you like:

I've noticed that some users replied that the sound of the Arturia Matrix 12 misses the bottom end and had to add some external fx etc ,so i needed to make a little test to check if it was really that thin sounding...i picked up diva and programmed the same patch on arturia matrix 12 and here is the result :

https://soundcloud.com/sergiofrias/matrix-vs-diva

which is diva and which is matrix 12 ?

PS: i keeped the noise floor of one of the synths on both so it's harder tell :D

What happened to that great original Matrix-12 preset called S-Geneviv. The Aturia Matrix-12 S-Geneviv preset sounds messed up. That preset is a great patch- too bad Arturia messed that one up. :(

Just a note for anyone trying the Matrix 12 demo. If you notice missing notes during playing (for example, on some presets voice 9 and 10 might not make any sound) this is another nasty bug in Arturia's code, which I don't think has been mentioned on this thread yet.

The work-around is to load TWO instances of the plugin, then kill the first instance. This second loaded instance avoids the issue of killing certain voices with some presets. It also seems to eat some extra memory after doing it.

When you're trying a time limited demo you're less likely to load two instances at once, and I'm sure some people have also ran into this bug and probably thought it was a demo limitation or related to voice stealing settings - it's not. It's known about on their forum, and they said a fix would be issued before the end of the month. Given the Dec 18th update did not fix it, that means it should be along tomorrow ;)

Suspending processing also doesn't work on the VST3 under Cubase either. It's always active, and eats a fair amount of CPU even when idle..

Honestly, these newer releases seem rushed, to get them out of the way before "bigger" announcements at NAMM. Not the best advert for having users trust you with hardware drivers, Arturia..

I am finding the Matrix 12 very additive.
Its got a great, old school sound.

Here are some more examples of the Arturia Matrix 12 in a more ambient setting:

For those impacted: a fix for the Solina V reverb bug some of us have been experiencing may be close to resolution. Not sure if I can say more, but I thought some of you would like to know.

Glad to know, but there are other issues that also need an urgent fix, like the voice stealing in the Matrix, and some incompatibilities in Mac OS X (some plug-ins AU versions do not pass validation). Can you tell us when can we expect some fixes for these?

Agreed on the voice stealing. Had me scratching my head for quite a while right after the update.

Hi all,
Hey fmr.
Could you please tell me with witch DAW you have those problems of AU validation ?

Can't offer any information there, I'm afraid. I'm not affiliated with Arturia.
