the M-Audio Audiophile 2496 being 70 quid makes it very tempting. Most of what I'm going to be doing is software based, Vti and so on...
Thanks!
On the otherhand, if you then decide you want a laptop later, you won't have to buy a new sound card (module, whatever). I'm in this boat myself, having bought a PCI Terratec DMX 6 Fire a few months ago, now I've decided I want a laptop (and will be selling the desktop machine) and will have to get rid of the PCI card...spritex wrote:Well, isn't the FW an external Firewire version?
And the 2496 one is a PCI card. (Which I have BTW, and can recommend.)
Unless you have a laptop, you could just as well buy the cheaper PCI card model. (And no need for a Firewire connection in your computer.)
