Is this some sort of brit thing or summat? :P
As far as I know it´s a person called Donkey Tugger (coming from Tupperware) who invented this style in the 70s. He must be very old now ... :-o :hihi:

But you already entered! July's theme's not that bad is it? I mean, I stopped trying to love heavy metal after puberty - but it's still good exercise to do something off the beaten path for two minutes.

Was it necessary to remind me to this? :D
But you´re right, sometimes I like to hear Metal, too. I was only joking.

Actually, this is one of the things I love about this contest. It's forcing me to compose, write, perform and produce songs that I would never have even consider doing before, and as such I'm learning so many new techniques that I wouldn't have learnt otherwise...

... and maybe one day I'll have learnt enough to do producing professionally rather than software engineering. well that's the long term goal anyway...

Exactly.
The only thing I have in my CD collection which is remotely metel is Metallica's black album and Linkin park.
I still managed to do something almost death metal-ish. Just make sure the guitars are distorted, drums are manic, with loads of breaks and vocals are very bassy and have loads of swearwords and scream a bit.Maybe pull a cats tail and sample it.

That´s absolutely true. If I have some burn-out regarding making a new song, then the contest is a good thing to get new impulses. And I know that my track will be heard by more than only a few people.

But why the hell do we post all this in the february thread? :hihi:
