Yes it is. I upgraded this afternoon. It's ridiculously easy to tweak.
I'm tired of being insane. I'm going outsane for some fresh air.

All these synths are on sale until the end of the year. I can upgrade to Dune 2 at 30% off the upgrade price. I have Dune 1 and I like it, and Dune 2 got really good reviews. I tried the beta version of U-He newest synth Hive, and it sounds amazing! With the survey voucher, I can buy it at 75$.

On the other hand, Best Service has it's annual 2 for 1 sale, including on Tone2 synths. I listened to demos and found Gladiator Expanded and Nemesis to sound really really good. It's the only time they are on sale for the year. The reviews are really positive.

Since I don't think I will buy them all, I was thinking of getting U-He Hive and Dune 2 or get the 2 for 1 sale to get Tone2 Gladiator Expanded and Nemesis.

Anyone can share their comments on these synths? Thanks!

hey what is your ug price for dune2? i see $79, is that really the 30% off price?
It's 30% off 79$ with the code

Thanks for putting that here.

I'm on the email list and visit the forum occasionally at Synapse and if it weren't for KVR, I'd have never seen this code.

No, they're still on there.

Sylenth1 is €83,4 until Friday.

So pricewise it is not so much different:

Sylenth1 + Hive or Gladiator Ex + Nemesis ?

I noticed that the new Ultraspace is not at either JRR or Best Service. That would be worth snagging in a 2f1.

I don't see anywhere to put a discount code in the Synapse Audio store.

EDIT: Just realised this is for the upgrade only. Damn.

Make sure to test actual usage scenarios on your own machine. I checked out both Dune 2 and Hive, and sadly, passed on both due to CPU usage. They both sound great, and are on sale, but I thought they'd just be frustrating in real life. My laptop is an 8 Gig i7 BTW, not a completely ancient clunker.

EDIT: Comment about Hive is wrong, bad memory, my apologies, see my post below.

Strange, you must have tried very demanding presets. What VSTi are you comparing to and what kind of preset?

Actually, scratch that report about Hive, not true, haven't demo'd it (yet). Tried a bunch of things over the holidays, remembered wrong, my bad. The ones I tried and put aside for CPU reasons were actually Spectral, LuSH-101, Dune 2, Kaivo, and maybe, reluctantly, Zebra 2.

...and on that note, can anyone tell me if the 3284 link on the first page of the Hive Preview thread is still the current beta?

Thanks.

I'm surprised to hear that Dune 2 was eliminated due to CPU use. I've found Dune 1 and Dune 2 to be remarkably CPU efficient especially given all the voices and layers that go into most presets.

But, as I've consistently found on KVR, there are so many different computer setups and variables that it's difficult to translate my experience with others.
