Hi, I am using Ableton and Fruity loop in Vstack.
I would like to understand why I can't use any effect in ableton when loaded in vstack.
With fruiy loops no problems, effects are still usable.
Is there an option or something to des/activate in Vstack?
I really want to keep using the effects in ableton and not in vstack, because I can control them with my keyboard.
thank you for taking the time to answer.

Welcome to K-v-R :)
I'm not a V-Stack user,but my guess is that it's configured as a VSTi,and ableton's release versions(Live 1,2 and 3)don't support VSTis.
OTOH,the new Live4 will-the beta's looking better and better :)
Or,maybe I'm reading this wrong-is V-Stack also a ReWire host?No version of Live will let you use VST effects inside Live when working as a ReWire slave.

Yeah, in Live4 you still won't be able to use VST's when Live is in Rewire slave mode.

:-o I only realized this a few days ago after I've been using Live for quite some time already (since version 1, to be exact). But obviously I was either using it standalone with VSTs or I was using it rewired without VSTs, but never with VSTs when rewired to Logic.
Thought it might just be a glitch in my system....
Now is this true, Live just can not use VSTs when in Rewire slave mode? :o

Is this a problem of Rewire or a problem of Live?

I don't think it's the rewire spec, since Project5 will run VSTI & DXI when running as a slave to Sonar/etc. It sounds to me like an "implementation decision" by Ableton.

That's how it seems to me, too. But I couldn't find any reason for such a decision besides maybe stability. :?
