Purchase a g5 on ebay for low price. www.paypal.com Offer financing. They pay seller. You pay back with paypal every month.

This has same rate as many credit card and personal loan. I have worked with this before :) I pay in 2 payment for a big item on ebay.

Paying in two halfs is still too much, does anyone know any Uk dealers?

doesn't any retailer selling anything from fridges to trucks and everything in between do this?

They'll just sign you up with some 3rd party finance place they deal with.

(well they do where I live at least, any Apple dealer here would be only to happy to sign you up if you meet the credit criteria)

Hi

Look in Sound-on-Sound Magazine - its full of retailers that do credit.

Some retailers off the top of my head - Turnkey-tel-020 7419 9999, TSC apple mac specialist 020 8400 9402 and also Solutions inc another mac specialist 01273 200800.

Good luck - shop around for quotes before committing yourself!

have you tried going to your bank and negotiating a loan? I say this because many of the hire purchases some companies offer have exhorbitantly high interest rates.

when I was looking at getting my G4 MDD system I looked at using Apple Loan - and discovered I'd be paying at around 17-24% interest depending on the time spread out. Even the dude at the Apple Dealer suggested I might be able to do better through a third-party finance company like HFC or even my own bank. After talking this over with my boss at work (always a good idea to have a chat with someone used to taking out loans), I went to my bank and laid out what I wanted and what I planned to do with it. I was approved within 24 hours and got a rate of around 11% over three years.

The fact that I paid off a student loan over nine years and have always made sure my VISA bills were paid on time may have had something to do with it, though - that and the fact the loan officer happened to also be a musician :D

still,, it's worth a try - and if it succeeds, think big like those new G5 dualie 2.5 gig water-cooled
