Happy Holidays everyone...

My entry for KVR One Synth Challenge #70: Ragnarök
https://soundcloud.com/peter-macmurchy/ ... y-ragnarok

Ragnarök is a super fun synth for techno and house. :hyper: It's a percussion monster and organ machine. :borg: Easy to dial in great sounds and highly layerable, being so light on CPU.
All my patches are from init, except a few from the default Ragnarök patch because at first I didn't know about the excellent Init button, and at one point I forgot to Init.

Made in Studio One 2.6.5 x64

Hi all, Merry X-mas and all that... :)

Here is my track for OSC 70. I have been tinkering with this one for a while and decided to upload to see what SC would do to it. Have a listen if you please and feel free to provide any feedback you may have as I will, on this rare occasion  have some time to remix/re-model before the deadline.

Anyways cool synth :tu:

What a good way to learn a synth. FWIW here's my attempt, 22x Ragnarök (in REAPER), no FX, unashamedly mono...

Hi,
so I am a OSC virgin here, my first time. I am neither sound designer nor keyboard player but Ragnarök looked quite easy to use and so i gave it a try. Weird experience, creating a song with only one synth I never used before, quite the challenge. Wish I could make sounds like others here, I always end up with the same cheesy organ or pluck sounds...

I used Cubase 6.5 with 16 Ragnarök Instances.

Cubase Effects:
- Channel EQ
- 3 x Roomworks
- 1 x MonoDelay, StereoDelay, Ampsimulator
- 1 x Limiter
Other effects:
- 1 x TAL Dub 2
- 2 x LVC PhreePhuzz
- TDR SlickEQ and Molot3 on the bus.

Welcome IXIX and fese!

Fese: It takes some time. For example, for me to learn how to create a proper snare took many months. Sometimes I'd sit for hours analyzing (via spectral analysis) 808 sound samples, filtering them, seeing the amplitude, etc.

Check out carl_saved's tutorial a few pages back for a nice snare BTW.

It's a great synth and I enjoyed trying to make a track with nothing else. Kudos to Full Bucket and CrimsonWarlock for giving it to us. I think it will get a lot of usage.

So you say a little OCD is helping there? :P
But seriously, i don't think i am made for that, i sit in front of a computer too much at work and home as it is now, I think i should take vocal lessons instead and learn to sing. But working on a two day deadline with an unknown synth was an experience and good training (to let pass some of the imperfections and just gtd e.g.).

Great point. I think this year we need to gather as many tutorials as possible and get them into one place.

https://sites.google.com/site/kvrosc/howtos Here's some nice info.

I had a tutorial on a snare, but need to look up where it was.
