Yes and no. For easy granulation, that part is gone. That's the Cycle Mode, which is one of the alternate behaviors.

Pedantically speaking, a grain is a sound event less than ~100 ms with an envelope. You could always use an extremely short envelope and trigger it via MIDI to create manual grains, if that makes sense. However, it makes more sense to say that G8CM just isn't as useful of a granulator.

I'm very excited for it to come out! I think it's officially published tomorrow.

Even though it's stripped-down compared to the full G8, I think the MIDI features make it a very powerful plug-in. You can still use it for rhythmic gating, groove extraction, and other techniques.

Josh and I will officially be at NAMM this year on Friday and Saturday. I'm hoping to meet a lot of you there.
