Simple, but good sounding audio interface for a laptop?

The 4-pin connector should work fine (though won't provide any power), I think the M-Audio Firewire comes with cables for both 4 and 6 pin ports. The 4-pin Port is quite delicate though, I worry about this in a live situation...

It *is* possible to provide a laptop with 6-Pin Firewire Ports using a fairly cheap PCMCIA card, though I think it still won't power the audio interface (is possibly safer in a Live environment, though). For more on 6-Pin Firwire ports on a laptop see this thread:

I just got done helping someone install the drivers for the 410 on an Alienware laptop with 4 pin firewire. Needed the external power supply obvoiusly, but it worked no problem.
