The 4-pin connector should work fine (though won't provide any power), I think the M-Audio Firewire comes with cables for both 4 and 6 pin ports. The 4-pin Port is quite delicate though, I worry about this in a live situation...Paulie Phonick wrote:@grillo:

It *is* possible to provide a laptop with 6-Pin Firewire Ports using a fairly cheap PCMCIA card, though I think it still won't power the audio interface (is possibly safer in a Live environment, though). For more on 6-Pin Firwire ports on a laptop see this thread:
