Not yet, sorry. Strobe2 is first out of the gate. You can expect broadly similar things - Cypher has more changes in terms of layout as it was the least satisfactory of the three on that front; Amber has greater feature changes as the CPU savings give us scope to do more there, include some things that got missed out first time around etc.

Excellent! I've been looking for a synth to bridge the gap between the super synths like DIVA and LuSH-101 and manageable CPU usage, it's nice that it'll come in the form of a synth I already know and love. Bravo to you and the team for focusing on usability rather than flashy features.

Just load up Strobe. It has a couple of reverb algorithms and a couple of delays, as well as most of DCAM Dynamics, an upgraded version of the Amber chorus unit, a few EQs. Six effects slots all with full 16-slot TransMod (although not polyphonic on the effects yet, sorry!)

Very nice!

It's manageable CPU usage (especially on newer gen cores - we've put a lot of work in to squeezing every drop out of those AVX vector units) AND very high sound quality. As an aside - would you say LuSH and DIVA are the ones to beat? DIVA's a work of genius, but I personally find LuSH a bit underwhelming in terms of sound quality vs amount of CPU used.

On the same subject - LuSH's 8-way layering - yay or nay?

With this layering Sebastian from D16 managed to create a lot of amazing patches. On the top of the great filters Lush has those very good effects, a great combo.

This is not just good for the obvious layering tricks, but also for emulating the Oberheim 8 Voice synth - perhaps not emulating the actual sound but the way each voice behaves. Each 'voice' could be subtly different creating a gorgeous, 'organic'* sound. I've already experimented with this technique in the LuSH demo and it works really well.

* the word 'organic' could be regarded as often overused but it's really apt when it comes to the way the OB 8-voice can be set up.

I'm super excited to see what the changes for Amber will be. Can't wait. Would love to see a rudimentary sequencer on strobe, kind of like on tal bassline-101 with step input. I know it sounds like a minor feature but it's quite useful for idea generation when it's built into the synth...at least for me.

I always wanted to try it on external synths, even if it would be fairly limited in comparison to Fusor.

@audiosabre what did you want to try? Just the effect engines themselves or..? Seems to me they'd be way more fun driven from a Sugar Bytes-y effect sequencer thingumabob than merely bolting an audio input on to Fusor.

It's different, much more elaborate. However, now that I'm thinking about it some more, Synth Squad can already do what the OB does. I suppose, LuSH is still different compared to the way OB behaves since with LuSH I can play 8 polyphonic synths, rather than 8 voices that vary on each key press. I've set up this patch in Lush which used 4 pads, each one slightly different and the result was really nice. Obviously this can be achieved with synth layering in a DAW, but doing this in the actual instrument has its benefits.

@Robmobius Geist - certainly! Can't say more than that yet.

@himalaya Synth Squad won't do exactly what the OB (or Trimmers) do - it has per-voice parameter variation (well, actually quite a few different mod sources which do that), but you can only control the overall depth, not the individual values for each voice. DIVA's Trimmers let you tweak each voice by hand, so you can have 7 out of 8 voices in tune and one.. not so much, etc.

Yay, definitely. Love LuSH, for it's ease of use, sound (which I like, a lot), power.
