Or, just get Fabfilter Timeless. It does allow for separate delay times per channel, you're able to pan it. Plus there's a truckload of modulation possibilities. I think it's an excellent delay.TheoM wrote:Nomad liquid delay gives separate left/right delay time settings, and is one of my all time favourite delays next to logic's own. Best Waves plugins?

You can even position each delay inte stereo field with both.
These and including the H-series are part of Gold bundle. A real catch a couple of month a year. Very best would be below $250 not long ago for 31 plugins.

So is Ricochet - a multi-tap delay, and by coincidence I'm selling mine.. but only because I also got RP Delay.Robmobius wrote:Discord 3 is a nice wee plugin.

SuperTap is my favourite Waves plugin so far. Super cheap on the KVR Marketplace at the moment or via Waves dealers. I love delays and this is the one I would keep above all others....even though it's probably the cheapest delay plugin I have ever bought!!
Windows 10. Asus X99-Pro i7 6950X 10 Core 3GHz (Overclocked to 3.5GHz). Corsair DDR4 64GB Vengeance LPX 2400MHz. RME RayDAT. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970. UAD2 Quad+Octo. Reaper. A couple of plugins.

Here are my picks :
- Waves KMT (great for mastering, as the first insert)
- Waves PIE on the master (mixing through it)
- Waves HLS (on vocals, the high band is nice)
- Abbey Road REDD (good on everything, really like those curves)
Those are the ones I use almost all the time.

I would agree with those who have said that it is more economical to buy Waves plugins in bundle. Gold is the best value bundle out there compared to anything. You get so much sound manipulation potential with it.

The Waves Doubler is essential. Do not solo without it.lfm wrote:Since we are into Waves:TheoM wrote:Nomad liquid delay gives separate left/right delay time settings, and is one of my all time favourite delays next to logic's own. Seriously, I would think that the easiest thing to replicate without a specialty plug is doubling (time and tune shift by fractions--done). But the Waves doubler really gets you there easily. Page through the presets for just about any type of emulation there is. And tweaking is dead on easy.
cheers

It's kind a bummer--I really want to pick up H-Delay in the sale this month ($40 is an excellent price for that plugin), but I'm fairly certain I will pick up Gold Native next time it's on sale, so I am hesitant to buy individual licenses for any of the included plugins.
Does anyone know how often Gold goes on sale? I know it was just on sale last month I believe, but I wasn't really in the market to make a purchase at that time, so I missed it. Any thought on whether it will come back around soon?

I agree completely. It's all preference of course. But if you have access to Ableton Live 9's "Glue" compressor your basically getting the very best SSL G Buss Compressor plugin out there. Its the EXACT same plugin as Cytomic's "The Glue". No difference whatsoever. Cytomic is the shit! In many ways it's better than the true licensed SSL G Buss comps out there bc they don't have to rigorously conform to SSL's guidelines. The Glue compressor has several useful features that Waves and UAD couldn't put on theirs bc the features aren't available on the actual SSL compressor.masterhiggins wrote:Oh don't misunderstand me. I didn't mean to suggest that they're not good plugins. I'm just saying that that logic suggests that their other modeled products aren't as good. I personally find that their API is their best compressor and the SSL compressor pales in comparison to the Glue or Busspressor. When Waves agrees to licensing terms with SSL, they're bound to certain restrictions concerning the functionality. Notice how there's no wet/dry feature for parallel compression or sidechain option? Every review I've ever read greatly favors the Glue over the Waves buss compressor.lfm wrote:It may be as you say - or it does serve both better sold separately since it sells well anyway.masterhiggins wrote:Actually, I'm pretty sure the reason they're not included in Mercury has to do with the licensing agreement between Waves and SSL. SSL gets a far larger cut when purchased singly than they would being included in the Mercury bundle. If you see how much they charge for their Duende plugins, it's clear that profit is at the top of their priorities.lfm wrote:There is a reason SSL4000 is not included in Mercury bundle - it sells very well anyway.
Now following Pensado's Place each week for almost a year - SSL is mentioned very often by guests in show, sometime as UAD version, yes, but very often as Waves as well.
Basically, I'm just saying I wouldn't read too much into the bundling scenario. That's all.

L2 is great.
If you do anything for broadcast you need WLM Meter +.
I use CLA compressors all the time - especially on bass and guitars.
SSL4000 is also great, and the SSL bus compressor is really functional.
The Renaissance series of plugs is good but the interfaces need a major update.
I also like the V Series EQ's.
