I could really use a dependable software application to track the latest available versions of my many plugins (VST and AU). Any suggestions? I seem to remember trying a freeware one a while back, but finding its info undependable....

Doesn't KVR do this for you via "My Updates", if you add your software collection? Works for me.

I didn't know it notified you, will give it a try. I did notice it is not all-inclusive, misses some of my instruments.

If you use Firefox, there's an addon called "Update Scanner", which you can set up to periodically check pages for changes. If there's a change, it displays an alert and you can compare the changes from the latest check (they are highlited). I use it to check the download pages of various manufacturers.
I think there are other similar tools to perform this operation, it's just a matter of a web search.
Along with "My KVR", that helps me keep track of 90%+ of the updates. Update Scanner is my parachute when developers are late at updating their product description on KVR.
When a developer uses an update tool, this schema doesn't always work well; but then it's just a matter of periodically run the update tool.

If you are on Mac OS try this. Its checks everything for updates.https://www.corecode.io/macupdater/#download (https://www.corecode.io/macupdater/#download)

If you are on Mac OS google MacUpdater by corecode. It's pretty amazing checks for everything that has updates available. What sucks is it's no longer available for purchase but you can download it. The developer is going to stop developing it 1-1-2026. It's pretty cool maybe if enough people try it out they will continue it? If it's before 1-1-2026 try it out and you can save a lot of time. Maybe someone here can take it over it would be great if it was marketed to the person with 1000 VST's on their computer and don't want to search all the time for updates.

The above suggestions are all good.
I just wanted to say I’m surprised there are people eager to update their VSTs so promptly. I actively avoid updating my DAW or anything in it for years at a time. Too many precious projects with countless dependencies. Not to mention updates which are technically good but the change just throws me off.
Am I the weird one?
