Reaktor/Absynth: now that I don't have razor they get zero use.
What would you like to see in Absynth 6?

I would like to see Native instruments come out with a physical modeling synth like wivi and combine it with Kontakt that would make me forget about absynth and massive.

Two and half years later and no Absynth 6 in sight. No Reaktor 6. No Kontakt 6. I was very disappointed that Komplete 10 di not include any of the sixes. Getting back to Absynth I love the sound but do not know it well enough to make meaningful feature requests however I will attempt to do so. For starters integrate a wavetable synth similar to Serum and something like Iris.
For me it is Alchemy 2 vs Absynth 6 and looking forward for both to be released. I can’t wait!

Imho the gui is great to work in.
Theres probably a whole bunch of cool (modern) features that could be implemented but, theres some smaller ones that would mean the world, like a dry/wet control on all the wave shapers (ws and filters) and feedback path on all filters, to name two.

I love Absynth. It was my very first software synth purchase. I didn't even have a machine capable of running it well, but after I heard a demo at a Macworld, I was hooked. I still love it all these years later.Kalamata Kid wrote:Two and half years later and no Absynth 6 in sight. No Reaktor 6. No Kontakt 6. But I too was disappointed with Komplete 10 and I'm still on v8 because of it. I feel like NI is focusing on extra sample content and some Reaktor instruments and ignoring their flagship products.
However, when I think of what I'd want in a Absynth 6... there's not much. First of all, I disagree with the "let's put in spectral synthesis like Iris and wavetable synthesis like Serum" stance. One of the worst moves NI could make, IMO is feature bloat. I have Serum and Iris 2 and to me they are unique and different instruments that I can appreciate for their own feature set. I think Absynth should maintain it's personality and core feature set. It could definitally use a UI makeover, that's for sure. I think that would go a long way to making what Absynth is more clear to users. Maybe I'd add a few vintage modeled filter types to it, since they seem to have nailed the famous Moog lp in Monarch. While they're at it, put in a MS20 and maybe a SEM modeled filter in there. I'd love to see a semi modular effect system in it, like the one in Mpowersynth. Again, take some of the hardwareish effects from Guitar Rig and bring those over but let me do it in a way that's more powerful than just putting Guitar Rig on the output. For example, let me have a bus where I could route varying amounts of pre or post filter osc outputs into effects. Add an effect that simulated the pass though of signal though classic synths for a more "hardwarish" sound. I like how Waves does this with Codex and I think a lot of very digital synths like Absynth could benefit from this kind of effect when a more warm sound is desired.
And last but not least, put up a series of tutorial videos. Not the overviews that they have up there now but in depth how-tos that turn preset users into sound designers. I think I'd say the same about all synths of all developers. Your manuals are usually poor and even if they're good they're no substitution for being shown how to do it in a good tutorial video.

It's not so much what i'd like to see in Absynth 6 it is that i would like to see Absynth 6.
i, too skipped Komplete 10. i wouldlike to see some of the programs that made NI stand out (like Reaktor and Absynth) updated. especially Reaktor.

Now that I will no longer have Alchemy 2 on my to get list
Absynth 6 now has become more important and more urgent.
Since the money saved for Alchemy will not be spent there I have
the cash to spend as I wish. Thinking about Serum. Is this a good
choice or another VSTi will work better with Absynth?
The Mangle is high on my list. It is very economical so will get
it when Version 1 is released.
My style is Ambient, New age, space, free form, experimental
improvisational.

Sorry man, but I wouldn't hold my breath. it's been YEARS since 5 was released. I would have thought komplete 10 cycle would have been something significant if there was going to be it. I'm not exactly sure what NI is up to (recent history is....strange) but I seriously doubt that it's worth hanging your hat on the next big update.
Trust me, I'd love to be wrong.
