History: Had an iPhone 4s and actually liked Garageband. Had to give up the 4s. Now have plain iPhone 4. Garageband will not run, even the supposed correct version for iOS 7 which supposedly downloads from the cloud.

Looking for advice on an alternative to GB (though giving up the drawbar organ and EP keys is going to be hard). Even just multi-track audio editing/recording would be helpful.

Have a look at Xewton Music Studio. There's a free trial version available (saves disabled).
