How to do this quickly and easily? I know it can be done in Adobe After Effects, but I'm too cheap to buy that.
Are there some nice visualization plugins for Windows Media Player that I could video capture? Or maybe Winamp, if Winamp still exists? Or something completely different, like a spectral analyzer VST plugin which looks really nice, or some sort of direct wav to video converter?
I'm looking for something that I could put on top of a picture and some text for Youtube purposes, along these lines or a bit more fancy:
Don't need to make videos of dancing cartoon puppies synchronized to the beat, but feel free to share recommendations for methods of making those also.

Winamp still totally exists, you can even find a windows 98 version if you wanted that for whatever god awful reason.
And yes, just find a good visualizer. Actually, with Winamp you can make your own visualizations. That's all those videos use anyway I'd imagine.

Thanks. Will give this a try. It looks like there's a lot more choice for Winamp.
