I was not expecting to read this when I got up this morning.

Where does this leave the official sound libraries. Are Luftrum, Biomechanoid et al able to continue to sell them from their own sites, or does Camel Audio 'own' them?

Hey how long has Camel Audio had this nice Service Center-like installer? It's very well done... did they write that thing just for this wind-down phase?

Post

This is sad news - It was the last thing I expect to happen.
You may think, such a company won't just simply close after all those years ...

On the other hand - It's reality:
I already use 2 *remarkable* vst that is no longer to buy.... wait, I use 3 such software.
From these 3 - 2 is still supported today.

I think who really use these Camel softwares, they won't sell it or stop using them.
Nothing lasts forever - look at some hardware synths from the past.
If they are not sold today - that doesn't mean that they aren't damn good.

There is a giant brown steaming ufo headed for the intergalactic fan
that cools the internet. The FCC is planning to take it over, tax it in to submission,
and ruin the experience as we know it, to be 'fair' to a few giant corporations.
Just like HHS is doing to healthcare, premiums bulging, deductibles skyrocketing,
choices vanishing, wait times coming in to existance, specialists disappearing, government bureaucrats breeding like cockroaches, vomitting rancid new regulations,
and clawing at every last vestige of freedom...

my guess is it is the giant companies pulling the strings. Put all the little guys out of business and they will be better off (is their thinking).
