A lot of people helped me here with my first mix

Taken advice of you all, I've decided to make a second try, implementing all the things I learned here.

So here it is :

It's a short peace, nothing special, just made it to have something to mix :D

All comments are extremly welcome :)

Please don't say it is worse then my fist try :? Well, if it is, you can I suppose :?

Sounds good! You've made a lot of progress. :)

Are the horns real in this? They sound pretty good.

A few ideas for improvement...

I might change how you're mixing the bass. Something sounds weird about it, like it's panned, or going through heavy reverb. Hmm... and it's too loud, and the drums are too quiet.

what garret said :D

not my style of music, but this felt to me like it should appear in one of those 'Confessions Of..." films from the 70s (not that I spend my time watching that sort of film, honest)

keep 'em coming Rony

Garret : The horns are played on a WX5, allmost the real thing :)
I'll take your advice. In my previous mix, allmost everybody said 'bring up that bass', I think I overdid a bit here :?

Cypher : Thanks for the reply allso. The song is just a basic blues progession in C. I had to make something to test .... :-o

The greatest thing about Kvr is, that people are answering here 8)
It is the best way to learn :D

We keep learning; that's the cool part about making music. I must admit that I didn't find the brass so life-like though, but I know that is one of the hardest instruments to synthesize.

The bass is indeed a bit too much now, and where there may be a tad too much reverb on the bass the drum imo could have used a bit more reverb. I must add though that I am listening here to a low volume play, so I could be wrong here.....

No words of advice - I know next to nothing about mixing but I also have received fine words of wisdom from the folks here. :) That's why I followed this thread.
Just want to say the other 'greatest thing' about Kvr is I can hear the unexpected. Nice one Rony!

See your using the yam.wind controller.I have a yam.CS6R,wish I could finger a sax!hehe

None are mic'd.
Piano : XV5050
Bass : WX5 - Vl70m
Horn : WX5 - Vl70m
Trumpet & Muted Trumpet : WX5 - Vl70m
And drums, actually I don't know, there are not played by me, the track was send to me. I'm not very good with drums.

So you have a Yam CS6R, interresting. How does it sound, I've never heard one of those. I know it has a breathcontroller but THE best to play windcontrollers is the VL70m. Oh btw. you don't have to know how to finger a sax with the WX, you can finger it as a flute :) You can even change the recorder piece for a flute recorder, so now problems with lip pressure but of course that limits the expression.

I just love 'Solvent' and 'rise in the wind', so I guess I'm one of your fans here :)

If you didn't study any music, you are a natural born talent 8) :D

OH...and also...are you recording to a midi sequencer like cubase or something?(keyboard)
Or is it all audio from your yam. to a pc?
If yes,do you have effects, and what sort?

Sorry to ask so many questions.

My monitors are Solvent Resolver 80W.
A couple of my friend musicians said they are missing response in the bass spectrum. But I got them as a gift. When I do a mix and then play it on a normal hifi, I mostly have the impression that I have to much bass on it :?
