What the hell?

Yep, the only reasonable explanation is that somebody bought the IP and CA have to be silent till the official announcement. And the offer was really good probably.
Hope that we won't have to wait till NAMM for the official news. And that's not some DAW company that will lock the plugins to their software.
Unless is Presonus. I'm fine with that :)

I don't get it, why just discontinue a product, why not sell it to some other developer?

Alchemy is amongst the highest rated plugs

A new developer could have taken it to v2, and got back their money by charging for the upgrade.

Just letting go of the ball like this is just like a total waste
Nobody said it was discontinued. Actually, nobody said ANYTHING, except that sales stopped. That just means Alchemy can no longer be bought FOR THE MOMENT. But IMO this means a buyout os some sort (and no, I don't know anything).

If it's integrated into the installer then all should be OK, no?.
I'll have to check later. I think I have the plugins installed on both my machines right now, but I'll try and install them on my other 3rd PC to see how installation goes.

We do not know anything of what happened.
It makes no difference for the users.
We know it's very sad that Alchemy dies like this.

Hope to know what really happened, but I am more interested in what will happen now.
I start to download all my stuff, sad sad sad....

We're a few days from namm, maybe it's not a coincidence if it happens now, without any annoucement, without any response in the forum, whitout zenpunkhippy post..

Well it does go on to say that you have until July 7th to backup your purchased products. That does seem kind of final imho.
After July 7th 2015, the files will no longer be accessible from our site, and so you will need to have downloaded and backed up your files beforehand, as well as the Camel Audio Installer application (linked below).

if it were either of these, then i am sure they would have explained it as such, especially to those who were working with them on development for A2

as it's so out of character for them, i can only imagine that it is forced silence i.e takeover. i truly believe they are all sitting somewhere, frustrated that they can't tell their loyal user-base, and sound-designers, what is really happening

I think it's more because they remove Alchemy IAP from itunes, the plugin version, all sound libraries and all effects.
The effects wasn't influenced by the development of Alchemy 2.

First of all why are people convinced alchemy 2 will be no longer available. If it was a buyout which product do you think was highlighted? It's likely it will be released!! just from a different company, possibly though a different name. Backwards compatibility is what you should be worried about :tu:

Hm strange thing is that there is so little or basically no communication. Why this secretiveness?

I have the Player but it still works so whats the problem, it will continue to work whether they re-emerge or not. The only sad thing will be is if its personal tragedy that has caused this.
