i just hope they will get rebranding? but you are the point, their products are just to good to just die.V0RT3X wrote:This thread is gonna be better than that "Add 3 words to this sentence"
I guess we shouldn't let camel audios closure be the hump of our jokes, but still..
Honestly I think they probably merged with some other company, they were too good to just "die" like this.
or maybe just being sick of all the support mails - "how do install the plugin to get it working with XXX DAW?"

Not going to speculate, no point, but I wanted to say before this gets locked (if it gets out of hand, the KVR way):
Camel Audio, thank you for your efforts and the brilliant tools you've provided. I recently FINALLY got my hands on Space and Phat, and was very pleased with my purchase (have had Alchemy since 2009 iirc). Whatever the situation is, I hope you all at CA are well, and a special thank you to Andy (ZenPunkHippy). Sure this will get lost in the slurry of this thread, but mate, thanks for all the support and good chats. You're a top dog in my book. Any day! Thanks again (I'd flick you a PM or a FB message, but I assume you're overflowing with those).
Long live the CA legacy!
Peace (in homage to the ZenPunk
),
George

Pretty riveting sh&%t for sure. I keep on expecting *somebody* to have leaked the inside scoop by now, but it keeps not happening. Very tight ship thay used to run, over there at CA...
The speculation has been mostly fun to read, and even somewhat informative... but sadly none of what happens here will change the fact that a major staple synth for many of us was lost today. Now that it's unsupported it's only a matter of time before compatibility issues leave it in the virtual dust. No matter what the future of the Camel Audio's IP, this still really sucks.

Why? I've purchased plug ins from IK for years and I've yet to have an issue. Sure, they're not to keen on license transfers, but can you blame them? Every license transfer is a loss. I think they'd actually be great stewards of Alchemy and if they could inject a v2 with what they know about modeling hardware and filter design, I think we could end up with a more "hardware" sounding Alchemy in the future, which couldn't be a bad thing. Also, IK has a ton of sample content they could impart in Alchemy.Ben H wrote:Agreed. I'm sure this must have been speculated at least a few times already but if there is a buy out IK Multimedia might be a likely suspect. They certainly have the resources and the fit might be good given the iOS apps and the fact that IK doesn't have a synth like Alchemy. I'd have mixed emotions if that did happen but it might benefit all concerned.....even the end user. Or it could be a complete circle f*ck.....who knows....that's my love/hate relationship with IK.

Yes! And thanks for listening. I almost want to dedicate it to CA...but I don't know if CA is still CA or is it now NI?hibidy wrote:God I wish they'd fix soundcloud and opera

My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.
