No, he's coming down from the rafters in a cloud of smoke and lasers to a remix of "Thunderstruck" all produced using only Omnisphere, Trilian, and RMX... running off his newly patented wristwatch/computer/cell phone/taser (in case people get out of hand in the ensuing moshpit)/audio and MIDI interface/teleporter (in case the taser isn't keeping back the lunatics).hibidy wrote:I fixed that. And he'll likely be on a spinning platform.....cryophonik wrote:Jordan Rudess is probably just going to show off their new "Piano Drenched in Flame Retardant" samples.

I'm expecting an Omnisphere announcement too, if for no other reason that's a guaranteed revenue stream and I (and many, many others) haven't given any money to Spectrasonics since Trilian came out.damoog wrote:Totally not being a smart arse here but I have got good source within trade that there is definitely something new coming from spectra,I don't know if it will be this years NAMM but there is a good chance as I was told this about a year ago(around the time that the TR-8 speculation, others have mentioned a new stylus rmx which tbh I am with everyone on that one but it is time for the next omnisphere isn't it?
The thing about RMX is there are so many great drum programs now and I'm not sure what the demand is (except for Spectrasonics junkies like myself).

A streamlined RMX with easy access to a wide assortment of new rhythmic possibilities is most welcome here.
I see no reason not to have something that works in a similar way, but roided up. What if you had an updated library with GB's of new loops. WHAT IF, you could manipulate those with greater ease and process with surgical precision.
I lust for rhythmic stuff......I can't get enough of it.

It's true. You know what's really weird?hibidy wrote:Oh, and I'd like all my favorite shows on history/science/etc get something to have other than "that" RMX sound
Damn this is going to really show my age, but when I think of RMX I have this distinct memory of watching the 1st episode of NYPD Blue over 10 years before it came out. Back then I had access to a digital 4 track recorder & 2 drum machines, but I heard that reverb-drenched/slight delay theme song and I really tried to recreate that sound. I couldn't.
So a decade later I fired up my computer, loaded Sonar 3 and installed RMX and nailed that sound in about 5 minutes. Wish-fulfillment is good, even if it's retro by the time you can do it.

You've just described 99% of what I end up doing musically.declan32001 wrote: Wish-fulfillment is good, even if it's retro by the time you can do it.

I have no idea about NAMM and am purely operating on speculation and rumors. Would love to see the "Thunderstruck" thing though.

Like I told you before guys. Nothing new will be released from any large developer until Windows 10 is released first. So let's can the crazy baseless speculation and stick to reality based thinking. OK?

I thought they were through with trade shows?
They're definitely overdue for blowing my frakking mind.

Why? The world of development still continues and doesnt revolve around windows releases. Game manufacturers still pump out new games, they arent holding off for win10. Business software keeps going, releasing, updating. Why would audio software be any different. When win10 arrives they will deal with it but they arent going to base their entire dev cycle of new software around an OS with an undetermined release time. Thats just a horrible business plan to revolve around another company needlessly when they can continue on new products that presumably will only be affected in a minor way if any by a new OS. Most windows updates dont particularly affect the software, more driver side, so it would be stupid for a dev to just waitTonyVegas wrote:Like I told you before guys. i.e. doing embedded software development we dont even wait for the new hardware of our nextgen products before developing. We can start adding new features, interface, etc on a current gen product to get a headstart on what could be a huge task. Rather than wait for the actual hardware its going to run on. Since any differences (even in our case of switching processor architectures) is going to be minor compared to something more vast as a UI re-write, or whole new driver architectures, etc.
