Yeah, it seems like their main interest these days is Kontakt libraries, Reaktor instruments/effects, and Maschine. This isn't a prediction, but it really wouldn't surprise me if they just dropped Absynth altogether.

Ooooooooo, don't say that! Absynth is NOT my favorite synth, but I'd HATE to see that happen

I wouldn't want to see it go, either, but the pattern would fit NI's historical pattern of sorta ignoring a product for a while, then discontinuing it. Not that I'm predicting it, though - I just wouldn't be shocked if I woke up tomorrow and saw a thread announcing its discontinuation. OTOH, I wouldn't be shocked to see an update, either. I don't know, I'm too tired to be shocked, so I'm going to bed.

I’ve heard that before, that is not to pin hopes on an updates.

I am afraid I may wake up one day and read that Absynth will no longer be updated and will no longer be supported as of July 7, 2015. Then given instructions how to back everything up.

If I recall you like Serum. Perhaps get it on the next sale.

Crazy, I am writing as if I have no way to make music when in reality I have more than plenty. I however do like the newest and latest. It’s an acquired habit or better described as an addiction.

I'd like to see a (tabbed) one page UI. And a heavy emphasis on exploration of sound through an expanded mutation system.

Would love to see import / export of standard .TUN files for tunings. Absynth is awesome for creating tunings.

Given that Brian Clevinger is still responsible for its development, rather than some other NI in-house team, I actually suspect its unlikely that it would cease to exist merely because NI droped it from their product range.

Abynth was/is my first synth true love. I still remember the first day that we met: sun streaming down on teal-hued magnificence, a smile in her eyes, with the voice of an angel...

What I'd like for Absynth is what we'll probably never get, but I'd love to have some up to date analog-modelled oscs and flters.

I think feature wise it is pretty saturated, however Absynth had resynthesis capabilities (additive/spectral)and the abilities to morph between the different oscillators, that would certainly kick it up a notch. That and a komplete GUI redesign.

Absynth 6 ? I would buy it right there without hesitation. Bring it on!

The reason I'm not buying it is because it's a product that hasn’t been updated in YEARS. In my book, that’s a bad sign. They roll on it and that’s it. I don’t wanna end up buying a $200 synth and see it abandoned and unsupported 6 months later…

I would like to see an updated UI and maybe some more effect types.

They *did* update Razor last year (or was that late 2013?), which was a nice surprise. But I'm not holding my breath on Absynth.

Now that Alchemy is not longer around NI may invest in Absynth 6 to sort of fill the void. I hope several developers attempt to emulate Alchemy. Absynth's demise however may be greatly exaggerated.

I believe in a more transparent communication between the developers and their fans.

A better and bigger GUI. I do not find Absynth intuitive at all.

What would you like to see in Absynth 6?
