I guess we will hear from whoever is behind this at one point ;-)

I'm still completely perplexed by this whole thing. Camel Audio is/was one of the few companies that I found completely trustworthy from how they acted over the years, with always the user in focus and going the extra mile. I met Ben and the crew at Musikmesse 2013 on the u-he booth and really liked the vibe.

Like many others here, I looked forward to Alchemy 2 very strongly.

If a destructive entity like Apple would have bought them, it would be really sad IMO.
Let's hope it's something more along the lines of what Camel Audio stood for and that we will see "Alkemy" or "iLkemy" or whatever the new name may become from a company that honors existing users and treats them fairly.

I keep my fingers crossed!

Cheers,

Tom

imo the biggest dirtbag move here, which I hope doesn't happen, will be if they block transfers or if they don't facilitate transfers in such a way that your entire personal info isn't also embedded in the transfer.
What is wrong with you.

Any kind of blackout, is that green light for looting?

The site has been "down" for less than two days. For gods sake, have some patience.
Seriously I would be very careful about this (ethical issues aside). Camel have always had pretty tight automatic security in place leading to temp lockouts from accounts if the system detects what appears to be unauthorised access (including access from unknown IPs). Up to now it was always possible to drop an email to their support to get back in again when that happened - but now people may find it harder to get a response. I would not advise anyone to try spoofing their systems right now or you may find yourselves locked out - this would not be Camel's fault but your own.

Let's just do a quick recap for anyone just checking in now:

Wayback machine's most recent snapshot of that page is July last year - it does not include the "How Personal Information May Be Disclosed" section.

No idea when it was changed, could be recently, might have been up to 6 months ago...

Just saw Hideaway Studio's post.

If such occured then it would fit the timeline for something like a buyout.

Oakmore Court is the business park where their offices were afaik. Lots of other businesses there too.

They have another address for the secretary, which is probably Ben's Mam's home address, or some third party handling this. And his personal address is elsewhere too.

There has been no change in ownership of the domain name, which is what you might expect if a company had bought them and intended to preserve the brand. Also if it was Apple I'd have expected the domain to be transferred immediately as well, but hey, it's possible any deal (if it is that) hasn't been finalised yet anyway.
