I save my downloaded installers on a local HD. Then I backup that HD to another one using disk imaging software, which I also do to my OS/apps HD.

Has saved my bacon on more than one occasion! :D

Exactly. I'd probably zip the whole lot and load them offsite into some secured cloud if realllyyy nervous.

I think between multiple hard drives, thumbdrive, and DVD it will be OK. I might zip and toss the PhatSpace on the cloud though just to be super sure -- those, esp CamelSpace, are on just about every single project I have for the past decade. Heavilyyyyy used. I was even on the private beta team for that one. Still have all my emails from the beta team.. so much fun then. I still have CamelPhat 0.34 and CamelSpace 0.02 too! :hihi: (No, I'm not sharing them so please don't ask)

So....should I now look towards getting Absynth when I have the money? It seems to be the next best thing.
Reaktor comes with a stable of great user library ensembles, of wide variety.
Might be your last purchase, considering new/improved/variations-of ensembles
arrive quite often.
Cheers
This. Realtor is really an amazing piece of kit. :tu:

Thanks for the suggestion about Reaktor :)

However, the reason I wanted Alchemy in the first place is partly because of its capabilities for advanced and deep sample manipulation (billing itself as the "ultimate sample manipulation synth"). Does anything in Reaktor stack up to a similar degree as the lost plugin everyone seems to be mourning?

Wonder what Alchemy 2 will be called when Microsoft releases it along with Dubturbo Pro and Windows 10 ?

To me, it does. You can even create your own instruments with it as well :)

Once you lose them, after 7 July, you're done with CA software. eeeep.

Well, sounds interesting - and looks interesting as well. I already have Max for Live, and while I don't know how to write anything in it (yet?) I have a growing number of devices. Putting both together could be a potent mix :)
