For ryhmic and synced effects Xils-Lab Ramses can be an alternative to Camel Space. With odf analog filters as a bonus.

It has three MAsks Sequencers running in sync adressing filters, stereo scene and volume, you can automate everything, reenvelop signals, control it live. It has a delay, a bit crusher, tons of presets, can adapt to human grooves, and a few things like this.

From the website :

" R.A.M.S.E.S. will bring any signal to life with rhythm and motion :

•Add true stereo depth and space, or take it all away.

•Re-shape, re- filter, re-envelope and sculpt every source.

•Create hypnotic or robotic sequences or subtle complex human rhythms.

•Make digital signals sound analog or add velocity to your vintage true analog synth

What other effects plugins have a similarly useful trance gate?
While I agree with other responses to this question, I'd like to add that Vengeance's latest FX Bundle has a great trance gate (and lots of other cool stuff too).

What are the chances Camel Audio gets picked up by a bigger developer? Kinda like when Cakewalk got rgc:audio.

This is entirely speculation based on zero facts. But I have a feeling that sometime in the next year we're going to see something from MeldaProduction that will do the job of both Phat and Space, and then some. You heard it here first. :D

Maybe, but unfortunately it will look like a Melda plugin.

This has been discussed at least a dozen times in the 'Camel Audio ceasing sales?' thread in the Instruments forum. But I'd say I, and many others here, don't think they'd just shut the lights off suddenly one day, at the end of a lengthy development cycle for their flagship product, unless someone else was interested in their technology and skill sets.

That doesn't mean we necessarily get version 2 of their products though.

The way CA left us shows, to me, the product lines they had are dead as products and the technology will likely be rolled into some other form. They seemed to have purposely separated themselves from their products.

When Google bought Nik Software (make of photography plugins for Photoshop) in 2013, there was a transfer of customer accounts over to Google. Google even went as far as to upgrade everyone who owned at least a single Nik plugin to the entire suite when they gained ownership.

This setup with CA is much different.. they are saying "Backup your CA products because, after July 7th, you're on your own. Deuces."

I just saw the 'Camel Audio ceasing sales?' thread. Over a hundred pages of speculation on what will happen.

At least Phat and Space still run on all current OS's.

We could all be happy that this is not a C/R system, but a serial (embed, if I read it right).

Other users of companies that dropped off the planet prior to Camel Audio (in a more harsh way!) were not as lucky.
