You start at A finish at B and everything else in-between is what you make it .......... that's life and music

I heard from a reliable source that it was indeed Microsoft who bought Camel Audio. Their plugins will be used exclusively to design Windows 10 startup sound.
No signature here!

im guessing he read all 123 pages to come to that conclusion...its the only way he could have possibly ended up there.
I've read many pages, but certainly not all :D
I didn't notice anyone specifically say they knew the Camel crew and that Ben spoke to Apple last year about a sale. I thought the Apple slant was conjecture.

Spectrasonics acquiring Camel Audio for $42 million

Spectrasonics today announced the acquisition of Camel Audio, the company behind the popular Alchemy synthesizer. Both Spectrasonics and Camel Audio confirmed the company paid $42 million for the franchise in a deal expected to close in early 2015.

Spectrasonics bought Camel Audio following the success of products such as the popular Alchemy synthesizer and Camel Space. Though its interests are as well focused on developing a new version of its Omnisphere power synth with capabilities known from Alchemy, the main reason behind the acquisition is to end the never ending "Omnisphere vs. Alchemy" discussions on forums such as KVR Audio.

"We're just tired of reading the same arguments in favor of Omnisphere or Alchemy over and over again, so we thought 'What the heck, we're just gonna buy Camel Audio and make a new Super Power Synth.' ", said Eric Persing, founder and CEO of Spectrasonics.

The new version of Omnisphere with Alchemy's abilities is set to arrive at the end of 2015.
