i already have a licence for chipsounds so +1 for a chipcrusher/chipspeech deal.

The sound is almost like a resonant filter; you can hear a static formant which picks out the nearest harmonics of each note, creating a counter-melody.

Indeed! The earlier TI VSPs had only 5bit pitch indexes into a ROM table, and that ROM table was chosen according to the most used pitches in a database of recorded words of a particular 'human' speaker. So with anything older than a TMS5220, you could forget about doing anything musical using the pitch table alone.

So what can you do? As you have correctly guessed, use the filter and create quirky melodies out of the resonances! While we "got" that, and can replicate all those tones - provided the raw source is used, we do not have a 'synth' editor for those in 1.0. but really it IS something we want to do. It would make more sense for it to appear in chipspeech than chipsounds, but you never know!

Will definitely have a trio bundle, as far as a chipcrusher+chipspeech bundle, then I guess we could do that too, just hoping it wont confuse the potential buyers.

On a related note I think I might change naming schemes for future products. Even I get confused when typing between chipsounds,chipspeech and chipcrusher sometimes. The fingers have memory.

looking forward to that. on thursday i might have access to speedy internet, again, so i'll download it then. will it be on soundcloud, bandcamp or where?
is the chipsounds launch album only available via soundcloud?
was there a chirpcrusher (i like that typo, i'm keeping it) launch album?
