Well, I guess 8 oscillators stacked qualifies for additive synthesis :)
As each osc can have lmitless envelopes, LFOs, step modulators and whatnot assigned to it's various parameters, it is indeed a very capable engine.

Would love to see you make your own dream synth; particularly if it had all the visual aids and ease of use that Serum does. Get Lance Thackeray to do the gui. ;)

I'm with you on this...

When I realised what happened, I had this thought : No Alchemy. That's not a problem. I'm going to build something similar in Max ! I think it's highly possible, particularly with Max7 and all the improvements in the time-streching features but that would be a huge time to spend on such a task... I prefer to make something else waiting that someone fills the gap.

I also spent hours during the last two days thinking about ways to substitute Alchemy and the conclusion is: there is no alternative atm if one wants to combine normal sampling/granular synthesis and additive/spectral resynthesis in a single sound patch. I don't use Max and it wouldn't be an alternative anyway in respect of distributing sound libraries.

Consider co-ownership of a platform that can benefit from your involvement, like Crystal (subtractive/FM/granular/wave sequencing/program morphing)
F E E D
Y O U R
F L O W

Kickstarter for finance?

I will consider all these possibilities and options during the next weeks and then probably revert to writing atonal contemporary music for recorder, cow bell and bass clarinet.

Loom is additive with spectral distortion/modulation..maybe that could be expanded.
I'm tired of being insane. I'm going outsane for some fresh air.

Just reading the specs, it doesn't resynthesize though it seems, but it looks capable, I shall demo it.

Can I just say....

perception: the stuff reality is made of.

Virsyn Cube
Doesn't do granular though

there's also Amaranth Audio Cycle...god only knows how it works....

Cycle looks pretty. I keep staring at his web page wishing I had some extra cash.

Other than being in dire need of a workflow update, what is Absynth missing?

I demoed it a while ago but it's totally not for me, the most unintuitive instrument I have ever encountered.

Absynth does not support multisampling and it's granular engine is so dated and basic that I can't stand using it anymore.
