Maybe none of the beta-testers experienced that problem? There are many people who aren't experiencing the issues you are.JenniferKinney wrote:This bizarre window-management is working against my productivity.
The text on the main menu keeps disappearing. How did this get past beta-testing? Why hasn't it been fixed yet?
And using the same VST's, it crashes much more than Reaper.

Honestly, if you've got crashes on multiple daws at all - I think you are looking at a plugin issue - not a daw issue.JenniferKinney wrote:

Exactly how a screwed up memory stack will inflict on performance is quite different on different daws as well as different computers.
Passed summer I ran Cubase Elements 7, and I never had a single stability issue - full working hours for month(to possibly use their campaign offer in august). And all Waves plugins I tested worked just fine - which I sadly cannot say for Reaper(and Cockos showed no interest at all either).
For me it's mostly a worflow thingy - not using Elements anymore, though I have a license to upgrade if C9 turn out be reworked.
For now I turn to devs with big ears.

The crashes occurred while I was attempting to load Kontakt into an otherwise empty, new project.
The Cubase main menu bar with no attached window is weird, imho. It tricks me into thinking another app is active when really it's Cubase which has the keyboard focus.
I just reproduced the disappearing menu-text by pressing (Windows-key)-d while Cubase has the focus. That brings the desktop to the top. Then when I go back to Cubase, the main-menu text is invisible.

Fair enough, weird it is. I love Cubase. Not hump-the-box love, but more like gee-this-program-is-fantastic love. At least I don't have a Cubase tattoo or anything.JenniferKinney wrote:Things get weird when like of a computer program turns into love.

8.05 (and previously 8.0) doesn't seem particularly happy on my system. I'm getting odd freezes and crashes, so it's back to 7.5 for me for the time being. I seem to be either missing some key commands or the defaults have changed too - such as '.' changing between seconds and beats/bars on the timeline.

Does anyone else think Cubase 7.5 looks blurry on Retina?

I've removed a bunch of nonsense. Please don't start it again, anyone.
