Yes. This is interesting. It's *exactly* the sort of disheartening clue I was looking for, that has kept me coming back to this thread every hour that I've been awake for the last few days. As a PC owner I effing *hate* that which will not be named right at this moment...

It's possible, but you only need to look at Apple's track record to get an inkling as to why they might want to purchase a company like Camel Audio, and what they will do with the developer talent, the IP, and the existing products.V0RT3X wrote:IF apple did buy Alchemy, then I wonder if it will go into the next update of Logic. Apple actually aren't that difficult a company to figure out, if you know their values, their patterns, and something about how they operate.
At the same time, when faced with a decision to sell your company, particularly just before something you've worked on for years comes out, you kind of want to make it a positive step for you (forget the buyout money for a second), both in terms of what your role will be going forward, what you will be doing, and the value of the IP you've created living on in something cool.
I could speculate and guess as to what I think would be the likely outcome, but at this stage, I think we've got as much info as we're going to get and unless something else comes to light, I'm moving on. I'll wait and see what happens now, if anything...

I kind of hope it was Apple. In that case all previous libraries would probably be rolled into Logic. That's what they did with the exs24 libraries that were separately released by Emagic. Looking good so far for logic users. Everyone else...not so much. Fortunately I use Logic.
