Sorry for an outburst of laughter, but they still refuse to even touch the VSTi market. And last time I checked, Kurzweil wasn't that "common" on the hardware market anymore either.
Why should they buy the Alchemy Technology? Or the whole company for that matter?

Why shouldn't it be about money? A person should not start a business if he isn't trying to make a profit from it--because then it would be a hobby.Numanoid wrote:Whatever happend to that guy ZenPunkHippy ?
With that kind of username I would expect that he wouldnt let himself be gagged by market forces, but be interested in sharing his knowledge
on this issue with fellow users.
In the end is it all about money?
What's the problem? If a busy, over-worked business owner is offered a good amount of money that would allow him and his family to have a comfortable life with better living conditions, doesn't that owner have a right to act in the interest of himself and his family?
I love Alchemy, and I'm sad to see Camel Audio disband. But, I have no problem with an entrepreneur cashing out and making a profit on his business--because that's the point of entrepreneurship to begin with. Good luck to Ben!

I agree.Luftrum wrote:Whatever the outcome of Camel Audio, no matter the statement deriving from their departure or what company that might have bought them, while they were here they did good! No one can take that away from them...
They were highly respected noble gentlemen - members of 1% For The Planet, raising money for charity on several occasions and with a product line and customer support that was top-rated in the industry.
That will be their legacy.
Very nice guys, replying fast, kindly and very professionally to all (my) user requests.
Alchemy is one of the best-ever synths.
I invested a lot of time and money in Alchemy,
therefore I would expect a bit more than just a "game over" message. So wierd...
I find this thread so surreal due to the Camel's silence.........

Weird.... Website all but gone, forum locked and topics about V2 removed but I still have access to my old tickets on FogBugz - is that run by a 3rd party?

Haha, I have to agree, I don't think Ray Kurzweil has had any interest in music technology in a long time. As for his keyboard business, it still makes good instruments, but I'd hardly call them exciting. Highly doubt that Kurzweil would have anything to do with a Camel Audio buyout. Isn't the word on the street Apple?Compyfox wrote:Kurzweil?yessongs wrote:New theoretical possibility for third party buyer. Anybody guess Kurzweil yet?.

ZenPunkHippy was hired by Camel Audio for the customer support, if he isn't allowed to say anything, he won't appear here...Numanoid wrote:Whatever happend to that guy ZenPunkHippy ?

Sure, but kind of nice if they remember to leave a note of explanation for the users they leave behind don't you think.KBSoundSmith wrote:What's the problem? Ok, it's only business, but just a message to all of us, who loved and supported them for years, until they got their lucky strike, would have been a kind happy ending, with all of us saying "thank you and good luck" with a great smile...KBSoundSmith wrote: What's the problem? But this silence sounds miles away from what I always felt Camel Audio was...

If he sold the business, he's likely under an NDA agreement due to the buyout, so he wouldn't be allowed to leave a message or explanation. I'd say be patient. He had a very, very good track record of customer relations, so I would not be surprised to hear from him when/if he's allowed to.Numanoid wrote:Sure, but kind of nice if they remember to leave a note of explanation for the users they leave behind don't you think.KBSoundSmith wrote:What's the problem?
