No I haven't been on their beta team for years. If you're serious and did really get an e-mail from CA I don't think your NDA is in effect anymore since they technically no longer exist.Kriminal wrote:I guess it was just the beta team then....you not on it anymore?Teksonik wrote:Not yet. Anyway, NDA and all that.

My Alchemy is working fine now so I'm not going to mess with it but I am seriously considering retiring from all this music stuff (not because of this saga) and retiring from my job for a year so I'd like to sell it on at some point since money will be tight during that year.dnekm wrote:Why am I installing? To see what happens with the latest files everyone just frantically backed up if you have to install with no connection to the Camel servers, which is what will happen to all of us after July....
So I'd like to know how the installer process will work for the new owner if indeed I'm allowed to sell it on at some point so please let us know how it goes.

Since when did they no longer exist? They have just stopped selling their products - go reread the message on the website, no reference to ceasing to exist and no one from the company has said the company has ceased to exist. Don't lure people into breaking NDAs. Too much fiction in this thread!Teksonik wrote: No I haven't been on their beta team for years. Don't forget that Apple opened their Edinburgh store around the same time as CA 'went dark'.
Coincidence? Yes.
Or is there a secret top floor to the new Apple Store called The Black Lab where CA have relocated to? (No there isn't)
Not forgetting that the new Apple Store is a minutes leisurely stroll from Rock Star North's offices, so can I start a conspiracy theory about Apple subcontracting their latest hires to provide the audio software for Grand Theft Auto 6?
Anyone seen my tinfoil hat?

Okay... Uninstalled Alchemy and removed all traces of it.
Re-installed the instrument and factory sounds only. Only my name displays on startup, the rest is placeholder text.
Installed the Allpresets file to get the factory presets. Only my name is now in the presets files, the rest is place holder text.
I have to stop now but will pick this up later and install the rest of my soundsets and presets and then generally just start snooping around.....
One more things - all installing and running of instrument was done without being connected to the internet at all... Gotta go...

Even though I'm a mac user, if it is Apple, I'd actually prefer that they release an iOS version, provided its a version with full functionality.
I don't want to have to adjust my workflow and change daws (since I don't use Logic, and don't particularly like it either) for just one synth. Atleast with the iOS version, it would be possible to incorporate it into your current daw or setup, even if it's windows based.

Anyway, NDA and all that.
they only said they wont sell anything thru their shop anymore.
leads to the conclusion, you cant kill your NDA for now.

As far as capturing things like owners manuals in .pdf format, I use a free app called "Documents". You just open the .pdf from the site's page, and then in the upper right corner, you get a pop up that has "open in" on it. Press that and choose the documents app, and it opens there, and is saved there by default. You can go in and move stuff into folders as needed after that. I realize that only applies to .pdf's that you can first open online...werp wrote:I email stuff to myself all the time. I must admit, I do get sick of the Viagra and cialis offers though...aMUSEd wrote:You can just email a pdf to yourself and open it.Ameyah Audio wrote:the problem was, the pdf included some sensitive data, so i dont wanted to let run thru any other software, i just wanted to put it by myself on the intern memory of the iPad, but im glad my company came up with a solution and build its own cloud, but well left me 2 years waiting. from that point crapple is just shit.dredd i knight wrote:To get pdf's onto your iPad install the kindle app. It's free and you then get an email address where you can email pdf's to yourself, and they appear in the kindle app...Ameyah Audio wrote:![]()
i never understand the whole iOS crap, why would i use my ipad for controling? when i could use my mouse, when im anyway in front my computer and could use it.
not to mention you are fairly limited in terms of backing up stuff, when you run something from apple. i went thru this to get a single f**king pdf on my ipad w/o using either itunes or any cloud service, it is simply not possible. and jailbreaking was never was never solution for me.
but we all know that from crapple? do we? yes we do ...
so if the camel stuff ever ends up with crapple, we can forget about having it on windows or on linux(for example).one more timecrapple.
they try to limit you on everything and when you are control freak like i am, you want to monitor the system, want to have on everything your hands and for that any crapple sucks.
i got iPAD leased from my company, so it was almost free.

In your AlchemyConfig.txt file, if AddressSupress is set to 1, the plugin won't display your address details in the gui.dnekm wrote:Re-installed the instrument and factory sounds only. Only my name displays on startup, the rest is placeholder text.
