I read on Steiny forums they are working on Retina support!

The text on the main menu keeps disappearing. How did this get past beta-testing? Why hasn't it been fixed yet?
And using the same VST's, it crashes much more than Reaper.
Must be a deja vu at least... I think I've read that sentence before.
Was it in the C7 thread(s)? And before that in the C6.x threads?
Too many holes in my memory to actually remember...

Surprising - I thought they addressed this with C8.0.x already?Aiynzahev wrote:I read on Steiny forums they are working on Retina support!
I must admit, I do like the new "retina" UHD Apple displays. But personally, I'll be happy to merely upgrade to proper "standard" HD 16:9 screens (from 16:10) in the near future. And since there still isn't a "plugin resize" mode in Cubase... old plugins will suffer from higher screen resolutions.

Well if it's the case now it's understandable it was the case with past versions. The variables keep changing of course, and it's understandable not all configurations can be tested.Compyfox wrote:Oh... a deja vu...barryfell wrote:Maybe none of the beta-testers experienced that problem? Which is understandable.
But I am more aiming at the "others don't have this issue, it's all in your mind" think-tank. Which definitely isn't rare for this host.
Can't comment any further yet. Still no demo and still no LE version available.
Let's see if a release takes another 2-3 months, or will actually be out around Winter NAMM 2015. Though I think WL9 will be announced/released first next week. It's been 2 years at this point.

I can't agree with that - a troll seldom make proper explanations or motivations - it just bashes a product and goes away.standalone wrote:Multibanned all across internet JenniferKinney (A.K.A. Every computer is an individual - they always contain so many different software/hardware that is to collaborate.
Crashes and gui problems - maybe graphics drivers are to blaim.
I had really odd problems with customers over the years. One didn't draw gui properly and stated my software was faulty. We eventually found a bug in drivers to graphics that did not work for lines drawn from right to left, but left to right worked.

I don't understand your post. That boy or girl has been caught lying and banned in almost every audio forum known to man. I just posted the latest example.lfm wrote:I can't agree with that - a troll seldom make proper explanations or motivations - it just bashes a product and goes away.
Maybe this is true:

I've had the text on my Cubase 8 menu bar disappear a few times actually.I found the solution was to pull the menu bar downwards a bit and let it snap back up to the top and the text reappeared. I'm using a 4K display if that makes any difference.

Also I get a text offset when I click on any of the menus plus I can't access the Steinberg hub as clicking on that does nothing.

My Windows 8.1 display scaling is set to 125%

Yes, it's the same case as 'Retina'. They seem to be working on improving the performance for this type of displays.Kraznet wrote:I've had the text on my Cubase 8 menu bar disappear a few times actually.I found the solution was to pull the menu bar downwards a bit and let it snap back up to the top and the text reappeared. The thing is, and this is not to stir any trouble - only a legit question, Retina Displays and Windows 8.1 with higher resolution are definitely not a "new thing". So why didn't they improve on that during C7 or Beta C8 already?

What exactly is the issue? I'm running at 2560x1600 and it looks great. Is it higher resolutions than that, or only an OSX issue?Compyfox wrote:The thing is, and this is not to stir any trouble - only a legit question, Retina Displays and Windows 8.1 with higher resolution are definitely not a "new thing". I know 2560x1600 on a 13" MacBook is considered retina.

I think this has to do with UHD displays and zoomed/scaled GUI on both Windows and Mac OSX - especially with higher resolutions.
I am currently running 1080p myself (actually... 1050p, since it's still a 16:10 LCD), neither do I have access to C8 yet (still waiting for a demo). I only try to understand what's going on in terms of "bugs" and... er... "features" with C8 at this point. To see what I might have to take into consideration once I'll be able to test myself.
