Certainly won't rule it out! Releasing the synths individually makes that rather easier. A four-op FM synth with TransMod could be a lot of fun, for sure.

It's a smart move. It could be argued that a lot of people interested in Strobe won't be interested in Amber, and vice versa. Also, you could still offer the Synth Squad at a discounted bundle price for people who do want all 3. Definitely don't kill the Synth Squad brand, it's already well established.Angus_FX wrote:Releasing the synths individually makes that rather easier.

The plan is to make each new synth progressively lower priced to existing customers. So that whichever synth you're most interested in can be got for a price comparable to other flagship synths, but adding more to your collection costs progressively less - partly in recognition of them having a fair bit of tech in common.

Actually -maybe it´s just me?- I´d love a good *wavetable* synth with quality filters - and your transmod modulation system would just kill on PPG-style sounds. That would enable me to finally retire my good old Waldorf Microwave (no, Serum, Wavemapper 2 etc. don´t cut itAngus_FX wrote:Certainly won't rule it out! But you're keeping it a bundle too, right?Angus_FX wrote:The plan is to make each new synth progressively lower priced to existing customers. @ epiphaneia same, actually - editable wavetables or just some nice factory ones?
@ twolegstoneworks good question, we'll release them as each one is ready. The old (v1.x) bundle will remain on sale at least to begin with. Were you more thinking about it from a price point of view, or from a playability one (especially the big multi-synth patches in Fusor)?

that would essentially make it a bundle. i.e. each synth, on their own, cost X amount, but the bundle of 3 would end up costing less than X * 3, because each synth is progressively cheaper if bought together.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Personally, I´d be happy with a bunch of +/- 50-60 nice preset wavetables (and I think that would be fine for 95% of the users, seeing the big success of Massive...).Angus_FX wrote:@ epiphaneia same, actually - editable wavetables or just some nice factory ones?
More PPG- than Massive-style wavetables though (could you actually use the original PPG wavetables or would there be intellectual property issues -Waldorf/Palm- ?), with an option to tune in aliasing.
Thinking about it... enhancing Cypher with these features would just be what my heart desires.

Definately more concerned about Fusor.. it's a great utility that I'd hate to see go away.Angus_FX wrote:@ twolegstoneworks good question, we'll release them as each one is ready. +1Definately more concerned about Fusor.. it's a great utility that I'd hate to see go away.
I always perceived fusor the main strength of the bundle, being able to layer sounds from different engines and modulate synthesizer parameters, effects and sequencer parameters with the very same knob. The extra lfo's and envelope followers are quite powerful too. Anyway, the first bundle is for me one big playground which calls for experimentation and allows stuff that no other synthesizer can.
I really hope that this concept won't be abandoned.

++1 to keeping Fusor. Kind of transforms DCAM into something quite different than a 'regular' softsynth.

The individual synths have a strong FX section and sequencer built in, so you won't need Fusor for that side of things any longer, but it's still the place to go to for layers, stacks, macros and a few other things.
It wasn't on the original plan, but since Camel has unexpectedly shut up shop (boo, hiss), we might do a bit more than planned with Fusor Player (the playback-only variant - essentially just the preset browser and the macro controls; if anyone here has a Seaboard you'll have seen it).
Just to be clear, v1 and v2 don't interoperate at the Fusor level - you can't use v2 synths in Fusor v1 or vice versa.

Fusor wasn't in the original plan? whoever thought of that should be fired. screw the FX, that's not the point of Fusor! the ability to combine synths, modulating everything with everything, and animator - that was the point of Fusor! of course it should be there!

Would LOVE to see what fxp could do with a transmod-capable wavetable synth. I know that there is a lot of modulation in serum but transmod kind of makes it look primitive. Absolutely brilliant system. Not sure how easy it would be to make user editable lfo shapes like curve2 by that would also sound extremely interesting in addition to shifting wavetables. As a side question, Does any synth currently do wavetable lfos? That gives me goosebumps just thinking about that.

This would be excellent for general release... these days I'm restricting my synth purchases to those that can support this. (so I can use them with my Eigenharp and SoundplaneAngus_FX wrote:Good Q thetechnobear. We made a special edition for Roli Labs which has four lanes of one note per channel control (pitchbend, x, y, pressure and a spare). So that's likely to be carried forward in v2.
is this all synths, or just some in the SS2?
(is there any kind of rough ETA on SS2?)
