Usually EDU versions can't be resold (at least with most of the devs I dealt with in the past). But it makes sense that EDU versions should be sold only to EDU customers.

the installer looks at what is installed (as well as what's in the DL dir) - hence why it'll be suggesting you only need to 'update'. If you either remove (or temporarily rename/move) the program and data directories it should go and just download the lotGeorgeZ wrote:when I delete everything in the DL folder and restart the DL program, it says some of the downloads just need updates (which is bull, as the dir is empty).

not true at all - I've tested the installer in 'offline' mode on both win and osx, works finednekm wrote:Guys, do not use the installer program, just manually download the files and installers from your accounts. Once Camel goes dark that installer is worthless anyway.....

Thanks bud. I'll test that once manual DL complete.jdnz wrote:the installer looks at what is installed (as well as what's in the DL dir) - hence why it'll be suggesting you only need to 'update'. Check if it stops when trying to download the Cameleon Remixed. It happened to me, and is that specific library that caused the error. All the others download and install just fine.Guy Richardson wrote:Sorry to read that, but glad it's not just me!GeorgeZ wrote:Well, I'm about to loose my shit... Been trying to back up my files via the stupid installer program (never been a fan of those consolidated downloady things, but in the CA world it makes sense) for 2 days now, and it keeps on being weird. It stops downloads halfway, spits outs errors, and when I delete everything in the DL folder and restart the DL program, it says some of the downloads just need updates (which is bull, as the dir is empty). I will do a manual download, but it's such a PITA, as the download section (due to being a beta tester) is an utter clusterf*ck [QUITE unorganized]. Fun fun

Yes, did that too. It works off line perfectly. It's just the Cameleon Remixed library that is causing problems.jdnz wrote:not true at all - I've tested the installer in 'offline' mode on both win and osx, works finednekm wrote:Guys, do not use the installer program, just manually download the files and installers from your accounts. only ones I had issues with were the free bandura, didgeridoo and electronic synths minimal loops libs - all of which the installer showed as 'unavailable'. Doing a clean install they vanished from the list altogether, but turned out they'd been rolled back in the factory lib (makes sense)fmr wrote:Yes, did that too. It works off line perfectly. I do not understand why some are using the Camel installer which checks to see if you need updating to make a reliable backup of your current, full files available to you. I would want that to be its own thing, not reliant on whether an installer thinks some needed updating.
Make your own choices, just download from your account while you can.

Alright everybody, we need to rally if we're going to make it to page 200. I think there's only been one page today. Who's still pissed they can't download their soundsets to the iOS version? C'mon!

That is what the CA points users to do for backing up files.dnekm wrote:I do not understand why some are using the Camel installer which checks to see if you need updating to make a reliable backup of your current, full files available to you. I simply went to my products page and downloaded the installers though.

I guess everyone is pissed off. The story went like this: all of a sudden Camel Audio close down, without warning, bolt from the blue. First day, no news. Second day... third day... no news. Silence. People consider CA staff good fellows, so they claim "must be a N.D.A. thing, that is why C.A. remain silent; "some big company bought CA, just wait and we'll see Alchemy2!". All sort of fantasies, but the only truth is that almost 10 days have passed and everyone is speechless. I wonder if it wasn't CA but IK, RefX, Arturia? People would react like: "tax evasion" and "intolerable behaviour"...audientronic wrote:Alright everybody, we need to rally if we're going to make it to page 200. Common sense should prevail here....
You want to make sure you have everything backed up fully, do it manually....
