216 hours and counting. The silent, REM-deprived dead camel watch. If he twitches even a little, we want to see it for ourselves with own swollen, red, blurry eyes. It's not like we can expect an email from Ben & the crew before summer, if ever.

IF they WERE concerned about their customers... they wouldn't have agreed to those terms or set different terms.
Lets be realistic shall we, how much negotiation could a little old Scotsman have against Apple and their legal department.
They could have refused, I suppose.

How old is Ben anyways? Is he going to keep the company going forever? No one else to run CA?

Plenty.

They didn't have to sell... and they didn't have to agree to the terms set out by the buyers.

Apparently they were re-approached, so they were obviously in a good bargaining position.

Had it been me... I would've taken the option NOT TO PISS ON all my (ex) customers.
My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.

The fact that we can understand their silence (buyout/NDA) doesn't mean we have to like it or that this somehow makes them immune from criticism or negative comment, even if their prior behaviour was laudable.

Do funny things deprive people of sleep?

If I quit laughing, will I get the rest I need or will the crying over lost camel milk disturb my somnambulating stupor again?

Which raise another important question for the Department of Historical Silent Audio Companies. Was the camel depicted in the Camel Audio logo a male or a female?

Our grand children will probably want to know this sort of important detail when they read about the rise, the hump and the sudden bump into oblivion.

No email from CA to existing customers advising about change of plans. Well, this is what I call lack of professionalism. It is actually childish. Will avoid them in the future at all cost.
the suspension is killing, but slowly i begin to make my tick on it ...
but still waiting for an official public announcement on the winter namm next week. i hope we will be enlightened about the whole situation.

you really think you can avoid their products in the future? i mean when they now bring as new company a really ground breaking product out, can you hesitate on it?

until that time lets keep this thread alive.

Laugh, really ?

You're talking like he was mugged.

As far as I'm concerned he can do what he wants, but that doesn't mean I have to like it and I certainly won't look upon a guy who - if that rumored scenario is indeed true - sold his company for eight figures as some kind of victim that had no other way out if his predicament. Nobody springs eight figures and doesn't have some sort of leeway. You sign what you sign and I don't see why CA shouldn't be accountable for how they handled their customers in the process. Which was shabby. IMO.

Bullshit.

You would have done the exact same thing for the $10m that's being touted as the sale price.
"I was wondering if you'd like to try Magic Mushrooms"
"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"

Software creates ecosystems and micro economies. Is this illegitimate?

99% of people working in any branch of IT make money off the back of using other companies software.
