my perception has been that fusor was difficult for people to get their head around

...but SS2 is super-duper optimized, so CPU won't be an issue :-) as for complexity, well, i can't see what is so complicated about Fusor. once you know how to use TransMod, you know how to use everything in SS2, it's only a matter of coming up with twisted ideas (which i imagine is where the majority of complexity lies...)
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

@masterhiggins Wavetable LFOs..? I'd say between looping envelopes, slewing step sequencers, and Strobe2's dual LFO (two LFOs slaved to the same clock with different waveforms & a tempo multiple) you're probably covered!
This would be excellent for general release... these days I'm restricting my synth purchases to those that can support this. (so I can use them with my Eigenharp and Soundplane :) )

is this all synths, or just some in the SS2?
It's in them all to some extent, but Amber is paraphonic (that's to say, parts of the voice engine are monophonic), so its usefulness is less there, you can't control a monophonic source polyphonically.

@Burillo Fusor was always in the plan, Fusor *Player* is something we've had sitting around here for years unreleased (apart from the version bundled with Roli Seaboard), in part because Alchemy Player has that territory pretty well covered.

CPU optimizations... well it'll still be possible to hit one core pretty hard in Fusor even at "only" 2x oversampled, but that's partly because you're allowed more than 3 instances now. We're not doing a DUNE-style multithreaded synth engine for now, we think one whole core is quite enough for one synth to be using up, even a monster synth.

ah OK then. i hope the upgrade price won't be too steep :-)

I agree that it's not complicated but it's more complicated than necessary if all someone is trying to do is add effects. The new versions of the instruments with built-in effects combined with Fusor seems like the best of all worlds.

Fusor won't host VSTs, sorry. There are plenty of good options out there if you want to mix and match synths and effects and save it all as a patch.

v2 has our new homegrown FXVerb (the same as in BFD3). Not sure at this point if we'll leave Breverb in, it's a little dated by now in sound quality vs CPU usage terms.

always was worried about my cpu usage, so i never touched fursor or any of the other dcam synths, only strobe was a bit in use.

hope v2 can change this.

Tremor is currently at v1.3. Should be a changelog in the download. Geist is due a major update ahead of Tremor.

Synth Squad v2 is much kinder on CPU, especially on newer machines. Sandy Bridge and newer it screams along even on low-clocked laptops. Doesn't do quite so well on elderly Core2's. This year's Skylake systems will be :o :o :o :hihi:
