The sound banks do... but Alchemy does not.
Although I'm not sure if they are letting this point slide at the moment, since the company is winding/wound up.

My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.

When my hosts scanned the plugin folder it crashed my hosts.... either on scan or on loading Alchemy. I re-downloaded it and it worked after that. I think it was the plugin installer file that was not complete. Try downloading again and use a download manager if you can, so that you are sure you get complete files. It was a total pain in the butt at first.fedexnman wrote:Must be me then ..... I have no idea whats going on then
I have heard tales about Yosemite being a pain. But I am on a wondize platform and still manual install.

I was forever putting off the $99 upgrade from Cameleon 5000 while buying several Alchemy soundbanks during various sales -- and now I'm too late to upgrade, of course.
I wasn't really interested in all the patch creation features of Alchemy -- the main feature that I wanted from Alchemy that was missing from Alchemy Player was the ability to change preset tuning using .tun files. It appears that I can do this by editing .acp preset files with a text editor. I experimented on a preset I don't use, changing the TunFile line to a new file path, which seems to work. (Which might be a violation of terms & conditions -- I should check that.)
This is obviously an ass-backward approach, but it's all I've got at the moment. As long as I have backups of my soundbanks, it shouldn't be too dangerous, I hope. I will continue my trial and error approach. (For instance, can I add comment lines by enclosing in < > brackets? Then I can comment out the original tunings while changing them.)

Does anyone know:
Is Cinematic the same as Cinematic Atmospheres + Cinematic Impacts? Or is Cinematic it's own thing?

AFAIK They are different. Cinematic came first and then the two part library came later (with all new content).audientronic wrote:Does anyone know:

If you have Taste of Camel, you should see separate entries.

I'm letting that Camel Audio Installer that connects to Camel account do it all . I deleted the plugins VST AU the old Camel libs app settings etc etc , just started it all over . After thats all done I'll download the Plugin installers Mac/Windows and save and run them I didnt really follow the instructions the 1st time , I printed them out this time and I'm gonna follow then better and save them for later . I'm not gonna blame it all Yosemite , but it was really easy to point the finger ,seeing the computer went to sleep on the downloads, the Yosemite upgrade went and changed all my settings , I just hate it . I gonna nickname it YoVista.

Just got new iMac with Yosemite. Migrated everything from my 10.6.8 MacBook and it all works fine so far except for BFD2 and Vienna Instruments, but they're always PITAs anyway. As noted though, boot is disappointingly slow despite fast processor and SSD. And can't see mac HD.
Would you like some cheese with that WHINE?

Alchemy doesn't lose it's charm if the company is gone. If it works, it works.
It's sad, but you can still use it.
One good thing is Windows 8 is still supported till 2023

Just an update all is good now ....... deleted and started over . Ran Camel Audio Installer connected to Camel site......Everything is good on the Mac / Yosemite side now . Im gonna make a copy of Downloads/Camel Audio ..folder , in a seperate folder the Camel Audio Installer win/mac and also the Alchemy plugin installer mac/win and save it to a USB stick .... I'm gonna delete my Windows7 Alchemy and all its data and experiment running the Camel Audio Installer offline see if I have success ... So Ill have 2 backups one on a Macbook and a USB stick . And have it running on Macbook/Yosemite and Desktop/Windows7 ...

I have never used the phone support for MS tech issues EVER.
I do want to know I can still get Windows updates while using the great products I already own.

I just wanted to mention, people can still make their own presets for Alchemy..
it doesn't end here. They act like it's the end of the world.

I don't even care about that... my music laptop has only one purpose, and Windows updates aren't needed for that.Examigan wrote:
