A word of caution...sooner or later somebody is going to get scamed. I don't trust these group buy thing...you want the risk? You take the risk...and don't go crying later on when you have been cheated.

But then again, it is something worth "investing" in. I personally won't even bother checking how much of a discount you are getting. Not that I am rich or anything...I buy all my synths, keyboard, ect. with my hard earn money. It gives me the satisifacotry knowing that I worked hard for these instruments. Of course, I still go shop aroung for the best deal...but why take the "group buy" risk when you know you are safe with your retailer?

I'm not saying that all these "group buy" groups here are frauds...but just be careful...it doesn't make it safe just becasue 100s of people jumped in....

legit with the zebra-buy, too.
I think there's really more risk for the developer.
what if 100 sign up, but only 75 go through with it?

I only know of the Zebra, Cameleon5000, and Minimonster(which I declared earlier myself

) Group buys. Is there some more that I havent heard of?

but as far as i know the logic ones have been going for quite a while with no problems?

it might just be that she is like my missus when she says it and bein supposrtive of your hobby,knowing you are wise enough not to go overboard and get into debt

i think that group buys are great. it has caused me to buy a synth that i have not heard nor played with (zebra).

and as far as risk involved it the same as buying off the developer... which means no risk. as it was said before the devoloper is at a greater risk...

It's not that hard to chceck out and make sure it is legit. Why on earth you would want to pay more for something you can get cheaper is beyond me. Like you said you work hard for your money.

When I signed up for the Cameleon group buy, Ben from Camel Audio messaged me soon after about it, thanking me for deciding to sign up

I say if anyone has any worries about these group buys, we can ask the develop to post about it on kvr in the associated group buy thread to put everyone's mind's at ease
