i'm having some trouble setting latency in cubase sx 2.0. i have creative audigy 2 platinum and i'm using kx audio drivers (version 5.10.00.3537). in device setup > VST Multitrack, i have the option to select latency from as low as 5.33 ms and as high as 170.66 ms. i've heard lower latency is good so i selected 5.33 ms. in expert dialogue i unchecked "lower latency" because i heard some clicks when i playbacked anything. so basically i want to know which latency and options shoould i set. i have no midi, or any sort of instrument connected. also, when i played back a vocal in which i looped a portion of it a lot, i still hear click sounds on the loops regardless of which latency i choose.

Why are you trying to get a low latency? Low ASIO latency is required if you are playing VST instruments (usually from a MIDI device), or processing VST effects in real time.
If you are not doing either of these things then you probably don't need a low ASIO latency.
So put your ASIO latency setting back up to a value (double or more the current value) where it no longer clicks when playing back.
Your other vocal loop clicking problem could be related to the "fade in/out" of the sample. If the audio is not properly trimmed it can cause "click sounds". If this is not the cause then you need to provide more details.

well how can i tell if its properly trimmed or not? i made the loops out of the vocal manually by double clicking the it in cubase, which opens the edit window. is there any solution to this? someone once told me to use beat slicer program to make loops out of it, but i could never understand the program

If the clicking occurs at the start/end of the sample then you can zoom in on the arrange window (not the edit window) and drag the blue marker on each side to fade the sample in.
If there is no fade being used then (with some samples) the wave value will "jump" causing a clicking sound.
Using the fade in the arrange window instead of the edit window means the adjustment is non-destructive, and can be changed later.

i tried fading a loop's staring point, it removes the click sound when i preview it in fade window, but when i playback all the loops, i still hear the click sound no matter how much i fade. this is how my loops look like, maybe it will help understand.

Is the clicking definitely at the start/end of each of the sample?
Did you adjust the fade for both the start and the end of each segment of audio?
Unfortunately, I can't tell much from the image.
You should be able to highlight all the segments and adjust the fade simultaneously.
