The demos sound sorta terrible.. would like to see some video on how the instrument actually works though.
Was hoping for more of a Scarbee funk guitarist styled interface, for creating and arranging your own strumming and picking parts.. but it looks like you can only choose from various canned (pre-sampled) chords and patterns to piece together.
From what I can see and hear, so far.. it's seems kinda weak overall, IMO.

Just curious because we all are looking for great strumming acoustics that also sound real and offer variety. There are some out there that are good at one thing but lacking in another, SOOO I was wanting to know which one you consider not "weak".

I have a silly question.
NI Strum Acoustic Guitar is listed on NI site under "Komplete Instrument". category.
Does this mean that it will be included in Komplete 11 Ultimate, or wil be made available to Komplete 10 Ultimate users, or the fact it's listed as "Komplete Instrument" have no real meaning?
I have K10U and am planning to buy this, but I would feel really stupid if at some point NI makes this part of K10U as well.
I am a new NI "user" so I don't know how they handle these things and any experiences are much appreciated

I listened to the examples and had two thoughts. a) they sound pretty good, but b) do they sound GOOD ENOUGH to be anything other than a bridge because you "don't have an good acoustic guitar player" 
The price is fine, and I might end up with it because I do not own an acoustic, but ... not sure if...

Considering things in the past it will probably end up in K11 with eventually a Pro version in K11U. if i didn't have Acoustic Samples Sunbird (and a bunch of other acoustics), i might have been interested. but i do. so, meh.

Compared to products like Acou6tics, Indiginus (just $40! check out StumMaker vid), OrangeTreeSamples (They also make a really nice lap steel, arguably, one the most complex guitar styles to try to emulate. Not an acoustic.. but, worth noting for the complexity and realism it offers) and any of the Amplesound acoustic guitars.thejonsolo wrote:Compared to??? These all offer, not only great strumming (some packages with a variety of different guitars).. but really nice single note play-ability and program-ability as well. All of these sound much better than NI's.. which is saying a lot. (I'm a total NI fanboy.. but they dropped the ball on this one IMO).
I'm using Acou6tics myself.. because I also use Electri6ity.. so, I'm familiar with how Vir2 sets up their vst guitar instruments, and how much flexibility they offer.
Anyway.. Probably a lot more out there, I've never even heard of.. but these are the ones that stood out, off the top of my head.

The Ample Sound guitars sound great. Version 2 (a free upgrade) of all the guitars should be out any day now. The suspense is killing me. A unique feature of the Ample Sound guitars is that they can play Guitar Pro tabs.

Hey, that Orange Tree lap steel is pretty extraordinary, didn't know about it. Really not easy to get that right, sounds great to me.
Not an expert, but I'm pretty certain you can't bend strings separately on a lap steel, that's a pedal steel thing -- it's the pedals that do it. Lap steel is played only with a similar tone bar, goes straight across all strings. In a stretch, you could maybe angle the bar, but it'd have to be a a pretty strong angle, or picked only on strings that are far apart, to get a whole tone bend like the demo. Not complaining, adds great versatility, instrument sounds great, useful if you want such a thing and don't play or don't have either instrument.
Anybody notice the feedback moves on the third demo? Don't see a mention of it on the site, so it's probably other outboard, not built in. Pretty cool in context, wonder what it is. I've seen feedback modelers out there, was pretty skeptical as an actual guitarist, but that does seem useful here.
