If you had Atmosphere, Trilogy & RMX it was $149 for Omnisphere. Trilian was $99, and RMX 1.7 (and forward) was free stuff. Incredible.

pretty sure now theres something big coming this week

so far they got pretty much everything covered - synths, basses, drums

whats missing?

- an arranger/workstation/controller - im thinking Roland plug-out or NI Komplete Kontrol here
- a hardware synth
- a new instrument VST covering real instruments - Orchstra, Acoustic Strings,Brass, Bass, Violins etc
- Convolution type of Instrument
- Sound mangling stuff, Vocoder etc

what would you wanna see?

I can see them making a hardware controller optimised for controlling and performing with their instruments. Hardware synth I don't think they are interested in, and also I'm not sure they are interesting in doing any more "real" stuff like comprehensive orchestral instruments, unless they are expanding out the Omnisphere content...

You think they would do more than OmniTR? I mean, its gotta be a really good interface just justify the price of the hardware and it can't be all the big of a step up from their iPad app.
SW: Cubase 9.5 | Komplete 11 | Omnisphere 2 | Perfect Storm 2.5 | Soundtoys 5
HW: Steinberg UR28M | Focal Alpha 50 | Fender Jazz Bass | Alesis VI25

Sure - remember the one-off Omnispere controller keyboard they made a competition prize a while back? I could see them designing a well-thought out keyboard controller specifically integrated with their instruments and features that was very different from the more generic controller keyboards on the market.

Not quite as crazy as Eric's custom thing, but certainly with some of those features in mind.

Thanks for those details. I hope the new offering (if not a free update) has a similar discount structure. It would kill me to sensibly budget for a high price VST while reading a 200 page mega thread about it.

maybe trilliansphere-rmx for 499 ;), including the new daw spectrasonic studio, the dedicated keyboard "Ericontrol" ,the spectramidi audio interface and the spectrasonics vocoder "Persinger" :hyper:

The world doesn't need another midi keyboard manufacturer deciding for us what we need that's just the same old stuff over again in different combinations. What players need is a manufacturer who will build custom keyboard interfaces for real musicians. I need a portable, quality 88-key synth action keybed with polyphonic aftertouch, long single-axis joystick with 10 LARGE knobs immediately to its left and above, a transpose toggle on the end of the keybed and below the joystick, 7" touchpad, 2 expression inputs, etc.

Eric might be one guy who gets that keyboardists need what guitarists take for granted.

Gonga agreed, which is kind of why I play with both, but still the options you suggested would make some things on a keyboard SO much... don't know how to put it; so much more bloody playable, for lack of a more immediately gratifying phrase.

You know the thing is, with Spectrasonics... I kind of don't want them to release something new. I know this is like... heresy... but I've barely scratched the surface of what can be done with Omnisphere, Trillian and RMX. OK I do find RMX a pain in the but in some ways, but still...

But it's Spectrasonics, and this is KVR, so yeah, take my frickin' money too! :help:

interesting... im about to get either omni + trillian + rmx or Komplete 10 Ultimate.

whats your take on either package in terms of quantity and sound quality?

For some reason I have a feeling the announcement will be something like Omnisphere 1.7 with yet more presets, sound sources, and either a tweak to one of the sound modes or a whole new sound engine.

I salute you for the concept of sensibly budgeting. I'm already looking around for things to sell. :D

Spectrasonics has never played "small ball", they don't nickel and dime you, they just think eventually almost everyone is going to want their products.

A major overhaul of Omnisphere isn't going to come cheap though.
