Of course you're right.

I personally prefer a GUI that inspires me - Monark or ImpOscar for example, those synths are just begging to be tweaked and played with. Your synth however, just overwhelms me.

Just my taste.

You are right, i agree with you, i like Synths that look like a Synth too but can you imagine what
Power Synth has to offer and the GUI needed for all of that? Monark and ImpOscar have a nice GUI
but thats all, everything is in the GUI thats it...while in the case of PS with all the features you need
a GUI the size of what? Germany i guess...lol.

Actually, Russia, if I'm not mistaken. :hihi:

This thing is on sale today for a song. Picked it up after demoing it for about 5 days. Absolutely worth it. Very deep synth. Yeah, it takes a while to get around it, but it's worth the time spent. Can get some very interesting sounds out of it if you spend the time.

It really is a programmer's dream synth.

Post

seems like i have to give this a try.

Post

Gave it a try and the sound seems nice as well as very versatile but I can't get on with the GUI. I don't care about aesthetically but functionally it's cumbersome - Too many horizontal sliders (and really long ones!), too many tabs and pop up windows. Sorry but the navigation is too much for a synth plug-in.

Post

Perfectly understandable! This is not a simple synth ;). It's extremely versatile and all that stuff just need to fit somewhere. So it's for people who either want to use just presets, or don't mind the depth. If you are looking for a more simple synth, which can fit in one screen, this one is probably not for you and the market is full of them, so you shouldn't have a problem finding something else.

ohhh, well im more the knob guy. but i will see how this goes here. :tu:
probably needs a gui overhaul? i will see if the gui inspires me.

i am not a friend of upx packed plugins.

I don't remember from when i tried the demo but using Melda's GUI changes
can't you turn the faders into knobs and change the whole interface?

Oh, ya you might be right. I'll check that out. Still, if it can all be knobs, it will still not be an enjoyable interface with all the tabs and pop up windows I think. I actually lost a pop-up window behind the main window at one point. That kind of stuff I can't stand. It doesn't need such massive waveform views. Put all the oscillator functions and filter functions in one view if you can and then tab what you have to. The least tabs and extra windows, the better.

Post

You can choose between slider, knobs and buttons ;).
About the "massive waveform stuff" etc. - it's really a matter of perspective - MPowerSynth has these sorts of thing, some people will like it, some won't, that's just how it is :).

Agreed. Thank you for the super fast support getting my authorization file to me because of my bad email address. Found out the problem. That domain's name servers were never transferred over during the migration. Have to take care of that eventually. In the meantime, I changed my primary PayPal address so this won't happen anymore.

My pleasure ;)

Actually there's more kinds of people than those who like presets or depth .....

the guys who like buttons named random!!! They're all over the place! Either randomize everything or just a filter or an effect.

Im a huuge fan of expanding the window over my entire monitor btw.
One thing i haven't been able to figure out is how to mix the oscillators! I see no gain or volume knob! :D
