All done with my track "BeeForm". It's Freeform music made with Hive. What else was I going to call it?

This was made on Windows7 with Ableton. At it's peak I hit about 25% CPU. The final project file was 266 kb. WTF?

I used the following plugins. Other than Hive, the plugins are all the freebie ones included with Ableton.

4 Compressors
2 Utilities (volume control only)
1 Multiband Dynamics
1 Limiter

Hi All,

Just to let you know DoctorBob has re-worked the dynamics on his entry ... we have gone from a DR of 4 or 5 to DR 9 now.

Hopefully the piece can breathe better and the dynamics shine through without being over compressed (which I tend to do - maybe my aged old ears???).

So, Master FX now is BootEQMkII, Classic Master Limiter.

Hope it finds favour with your ears. Still needs to be played good and loud though, please!

I'm re-posting the link coz it's quite different - hope that's OK Brian??

Hi all, sorry for the late post. I totally forgot to post the song here.

Wanted to create a deep house track for this month. As you can hear, this song is nowhere near deep house. Whatever you want to call this, i hope you enjoy it.

Hive was easy to work with, My favorite part of it is the Distortion module. It really brought out some vocal parts of the sounds heard in this song. I have several vocal patches, and on one, I used the Vocalizer filter plugin. I turned the sound into a very vocal sounding (oy ai ai)effect. However to get that sound, not only did I use vocalizer, which has a ton of bad resonance

, but also a bunch of EQs to bring out the vocal transients.

Initially I had issues with the envelopes being weirdly shaped and i couldnt get the sounds i desired, but then i realized i could modulate the shape of the envelope with another envelope. In other words the modulation in this synth is awesome, and this provides for some great possibilities, you can even modulate the FX!. I wish there was an FM module and some more waveforms. And some visualisations as well. Hopefully Urs you see this.

This song is heavily compressed. The dynamic range is nowhere to be found, but such is the nature of the beast. Hope you enjoy this hard hitter.

Hi all,

Here is my track with Hive. For me Hive stands for my Humble Imitating Virtual Ensemble. You know I just love to imitate acoustical instruments. And with Hive, it worked very well.
And this time I could combine my two hobbies, music and astrophotography, because after I photographed the comet Lovejoy I thought, that this would be the right titel for the track. Because working with Hive was also love and joy!
