some other simmons drum vst is just up on his site for future product - what is it an emu of?
An emulation of the Simmons SDSV and SDS7 electronic drum kits, according to the ad.

Should be good. That drum bit on the Eastenders theme? That's a Simmons kit. :)

Did Herbie Hancock use this on his Future Shock LP I wonder?

Is that an analogue or digital drum synth - gonna check Vintage Synth Explorer.

any other famous tunes bar Eastenders lol?

VSDSX is out :) It is mostly analog (only hihat and cymbals are a mix of digital looped short sample and analog noise source)
You can see Herbie used Simmons Drums, Live on Rock It! ahaha

There is tons of people who were using the Simmons Drums, the Midnight Star Hit Operator for example or in other style King Crimson Drummer etc...

It is also a secret weapon for making drum layering with the Linn Drum...think about it :)

You are totally showing up a certain big VST company with your modeling! Purchased already....It would be nice to have drums as authentic as yours to use with a certain bit of kit I own called Spark.

I'm wondering if this is the Whodini - Freaks Come Out At Night drum too?!

Pretty sure Whodini's stuffs was a mix of DMX, Linn, Fairlight. Larry Smith has produced some tracks and IIRC he's stuffs were state of the art funk. I don't know the entire catalog but it is very possible that they used some Simmons / Tama techstar drums at some point :)

vLinn deserves a bump! Love this machine.

I do however have a rather annoying problem. I've created a few banks with different sets of self-made custom eproms (1 bank with different instruments based on the DR-110, 1 bank based on the KPR-77, etc.) Rather often when loading a bank one of the voices go silent. It's as if vLinn fails to load the eprom. Most often its the 'Conga' voice, but sometimes tamb/cabasa/high hat. It has never happened to Kick or Snare, not sure if it has happened to 'Tom'.

When this happens it's, however, not enough to simply reset the channel and reload the eprom. I have to load a different eprom into the channel (at which point sound returns), then reload the wanted eprom.

Anyyone have the same problem? Any idea of how to fix/minimize this issue?

Thanks for the bump :)
When you change the EPROM size, the voice output buffer is cleared, then you can load an external EPROM.
If you try to load the same EPROM twice, it won't load unless it is a different one.
So I think that what might happen in your case is that sometimes when loading a patch the EPROM loading on a particular voice is recalled before the size parameter is recalled and changed, in this case VLINN would load the EPROM than change the size which will clear up the output buffer (resulting in no sound), you then have to load a different EPROM before switching back to the right one.

This little issue is already fixed into VLINN 2.0 (which is crossplatform WIN/OSX, AU, x32, x64, VST2 and VST3 by the way :) ) among other nice updates, All voices can now be replaced, and no more need to select the size.
Hopefully it should be available at the end of February

Great news!
:hyper:

To make our mouth water... you can give us some small clues (even not ultra-precise if you prefer) on these "other nice updates"?

How long does it take from making the 15€ donation to actually getting the download link ? I made the donation on the 14th of Feb and I have still not received a link for it. Thanks in advance for any answers :)

There are scholar holidays currently in France. It could be perhaps a reason.

Aly James lives in a region which belongs to the Zone C (his region is the blue region at the south-east).

I don't know if he has children. But if yes... he is perhaps with them at the mountain.
