It'll be interesting. Eric has said in the past they weren't doing any teaser announcements anymore cos the dates kept shifting, and they'd only announce when ready to ship. But there again he also said they wouldn't be announcing at trade shows any more, so...

EDIT - can't quite remember, was there a simultaneous announcement and trade show before? Not sure if tomorrow will be a live stream from NAMM or if it'll be just a regular website update. Regardless, I have a feeling that it'll be fairly quick to release, but I presume post-NAMM at least as they'd need all hands to the pump.

The quotes I remember from Eric were that they were following the "Apple model" and not going to announce anything until it was available. I think the "trade show" thing was in that context, but it seems pretty much everyone here read those comments differently than I.

But the Omni 1.5 update was available about a week after NAMM.

Tomorrow should be interesting if whatever is out when Eric (or whoever) speaks, because I'm going to be on my computer & yes this will cause a divorce.

Answered at the end of the sentence- "..."Apple model" and not going to announce anything until it was available".

In other words he is saying Apple's model is to not announce till it can be had.

No, it starts tomorrow morning. Only half a day to go! :)

I'd really love to see another product being "treated with love" (again) other than Omnisphere to be honest. But there is no use in speculation - we will know for sure in 15+ hours (according to the NAMM Show timer).

From Eric on FB: "Tune-in Thursday 10AM PST on spectrasonics.net for our announcement. NAMM booth #6724. Let's make some noise!"

I'm already rockin' in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia PA...

Are you in Da Burgh, or Philly? Only 12 hours, 39 minutes 'til the announcement.

Wonder what altitude they are going for this time. I'm saving for Soundtoys 5 but If there is an Omnisphere replacement I will feel inferior.

about 8.5 hours then :D

I might consider the purchase if everything whats new after several months/years would be new soundbanks
which leaves the assumption that either something went wrong behind the doors or nothing was going on at all

what would be the minimum you expect from spectrasonics today? at which point would you feel disappointed by the updates and/or new products? The expectations are rather high now

A price drop more in line with the current market-rate for high-end plugins would be welcomed, unlikely as that seems. I don't care how feature-packed Omnisphere is, $500 is just too much for me and, i suspect, most people.

If there's no sample import in Omni, lots will be disappointed, but I won't be one of them :)

If there were no update or replacement for Stylus, I'd feel a little deflated I guess. If there was an electric guitar version of Trilian, I might be less excited than most cos I always play real guitar. On the other hand, even if "all" we got was a significant update to Omni or Stylus, I'd be super happy.
