O: Oh yes, the, uh, the Norwegian Blue (camel) ...What's,uh...What's wrong with it?
C: I'll tell you what's wrong with it, my lad. 'E's dead, that's what's wrong with it!
O: No, no, 'e's uh,...he's resting.
C: Look, matey, I know a dead parrot camel when I see one, and I'm looking at one right now.
O: No no he's not dead, he's, he's restin'! Remarkable bird camel, the Norwegian Blue, idn'it, ay? Beautiful plumage!
C: The plumage don't enter into it. It's stone dead.
O: Nononono, no, no! 'E's resting!

Haha! Classic!! :D

Still... Funny that this thread still has SO much traction on the same day that Spectrasonics announces Omnisphere 2 - which happens to INCLUDE sample importing and a crazy new granular synth engine.

'E's sure not goin down easy, whatever 'E's doin!

My computer can't display numbers that high. Maybe you could explain it using smaller numbers over 10 posts...

Do you remember the price of Alchemy with all of the libraries included?

I was never that interested in the libraries. I don't really want to clog my HD space with 20Gb of what someone else thinks are cool samples - not to mention paying for a mass of stuff I'll never use. I don't see why they can't sell the basic synth for a reasonable price and then bundle it with the samples and extra presets for those who need ready made sounds.

Well played, sir!

Haha... I guess now that Omnisphere does importing and real synthesis I'm gonna have to start ignoring the library after April 30th if I want to be able to look myself in the mirror! ;)

But then how the hell do I justify the price, *then*!?!?!

Damn you, KVR foruuuuums.....!!!! <jumps out window>

Just wanted to say thanks to Camel Audio for a cool product.

Actually this brings up an interesting point. How many different sets of piano / orchestral / basic drum samples etc do you have on your computer? The ones that come with your DAW, the specialist ones like VSL, then the ones that come with Alchemy, Kontakt, Omnisphere or whatever. It gets ridiculous - and all of them stacking up the Gigabytes. I think the Proteus 2 had 4 or 8 Mb of orchestral samples. They sound a bit crap now but they were used in hundreds of soundtracks.
Would you like some cheese with that WHINE?
